Summary/Abstract: Historically, there are different views and concepts about the optimal orientation of the implants in the femoral neck. Different views existed both in the type of implant designs and their placement in the bone as well as in the way of performing the operative technique, such as the need to perform fracture compression, impaction in the fracture site, and the performance of some concomitant procedures such as the aspiration of hemangiosis. We have tried to present and briefly discuss the main topics of femoral neck fracture fixation existed during the history of the treatment of this fracture.
