The Legal Significance of Oath-Taking by the Members of the Municipal Council

Summary/Abstract: The article considers the legal significance of the oath-taking by the members of the municipal council in The Republic of Bulgaria. The development of provisions of the Local Self-government and Local Administration Act related to the oath and the consequences of not taking it is analyzed. Attention is paid to the case law of the courts and the acts of the election committees as suggested by the current legislation. A few proposals about the improvement of the regulations are made in the conclusion part
