Summary/Abstract: In a world built on speed and efficiency, the need for simplification and rapid legal solution has also created the tools needed to resolve disputes. Arbitration as a method of resolving disputes in an efficient and fast track way was also the first to promote the tools to increase efficiency, which later proved to be perfectly functional, as a unique solution, in pandemic times. Such tools are the simplified and/or expedited procedures which have been adopted by international and domestic arbitration institutions precisely in order to respond to this need to resolve disputes more quickly and simply as a continuous adaptation to the speeding of the business environment. This article aims to make an essential analysis of such extraordinary procedures, highlighting whether it was possible a balance between the net increased speed of reaction by using this type of procedures, on the one hand, and the principle of autonomy of the parties governing arbitration, on the other hand, a balance that will finally ensure obtaining a final and binding award, and therefore enforceable.
