Summary/Abstract: Body posture is a moving habit that forms and changes throughout the life span. The status of students is becoming more current, considering today's modern lifestyle with too little physical activity, and increasingly sedentary. Teachers and professors should be able to recognize improper body posture in time, to properly supress and prevent physical deformities, such as deformities of the spine, chest, lower extremities (legs) and feet. The goal of this research is to determine the condition and structure of the deviations of posture of the head, shoulders, breasts, shoulder blades, spine, abdomen, legs and feet, as well as to determine significant differences between the initial and final measurements in the results of improper posture and physical deformities in primary and secondary school students of schools in the city of Sarajevo. The survey was conducted on a sample of 221 first grade students from 11 elementary schools in Sarajevo, aged 6-7 years. The diagnosis of posture condition was performed by Napoleon Wolanski's criteria, which are based on determining segmented dimensions in mutual relations, as follows: D1 - head posture (ODG), D2 - shoulder posture (ODR), D3 - chest posture (ODGR), D4 - shoulder blades posture (ODL), D5 - spine posture (ODK), D6 - abdomen posture (ODTR), D7 - legs posture (ODN), D8 - feet posture (ODS). The following measuring instruments / tests were also applied: measurement of spinal curvature and verification of foot structure by plantography method. An analysis of body posture in first grade students of elementary schools from the city of Sarajevo was done using descriptive statistics. Analyzing the variables of posture of individual body parts of the sample examined using descriptive statistics, it was found that there is a statistically significant representation of improper posture, as well as statistically significant differences between the initial and final measurements in the results of improper posture in first grade students of elementary schools in Sarajevo. as well as a large number of physical deformities. Based on the research, it can be concluded that physical activity is important for all students, especially at this age. First and foremost, teachers need to know for themselves the importance of daily physical exercise in order to be able to pass it on to students and prevent the negative effects of today's sedentary lifestyle. Your own example is the best example.
