Summary/Abstract: Weaving is like a cultural painting that reflects the characteristics of the region, its cultural values and the feelings of the wearer. Carpet weaving is also important in terms of reflecting our past as well as maintaining our traditions and transmitting these values to future generations. However, hand-woven carpet cushions, one of the most important parts of our culture, are losing their value day by day as a result of technological developments and changing living conditions. Today, in many parts of Anatolia, carpet cushions, which are considered to be indispensable for room decoration and woven on the loom installed in a corner of the house, are not produced. Fabricated products without manual labor cause the degeneration of this important production tradition. Hand-woven carpet cushions, woven with a thousand labor, are either sold to antique shops or thrown away. It is considered important to record the motifs, patterns and compositions on the carpet cushions, which constitutes a symbolic expression form in the collective memory of the society, a traditional production type that will not be replaced again. For this reason, the aim of this study was determined as the examination and documentation of the color, motif and composition features of hand-woven carpet cushions in Adıyaman city center and its villages. This research is structured as a survey model. The population of the study was selected as Adıyaman province villages, of which Payamlı, Karagöl, Davuthan, Pishinik villages and Güzelevler provinces were selected as samples. 16 different carpet cushions were found in the houses visited and were examined. The results of the findings on color, motif and composition were discussed.
