Summary/Abstract: At the Faculty of Theology of the University of Silesia in Katowice, research related to John Paul II is carried out. The theology of Karol Wojtyła and then the teaching of John Paul II inspired the in-depth scientific studies. The Theological Library of the University of Silesia stores in its collection the intellectual and material achievements in the form of master’s theses, bachelor’s theses and doctoral theses referring to the person and pontificate of John Paul II. The majority of these works have been created since Karol Wojtyla was elected Pope until now. At present, the collection comprises over 200 dissertations. The topics of research works involve dogmatic, pastoral and moral theology, including historical and ministerial issues and the social teaching of the Church.
