Summary/Abstract: Teaching with the support of information and communication technologies, multimedia and the Internet must be viewed as a modern teaching system that has great potential and perspective in the future. By applying information and communication technologies, we achieve the possibility of adapting the planned contents to different levels of students' knowledge, which conditions simpler adoption of new material. Teaching with the help of information and communication technologies should be observed as one of the modern approaches that has its adequate role in the educational system. Teachers have a crucial role in that process, because it depends on them the most how much students will acquire knowledge. Professional development programs for teachers in the field of information and communication technologies, multimedia and the Internet should be presented as a special area in the professional development program and introduced as part of the mandatory professional development. The COVID 19 pandemic fundamentally changed the daily lives of people, which also affected the functioning of education systems. The teaching process, almost overnight, switched to various online platforms, TV screens, Viber groups and other media.
