Janusz Korczak Seen Contemporary (in the Survey)

Summary/Abstract: In the contemporary upbringing one should take from the great educators and authorities. One of them was Janusz Korczak (1878–1942) who whole his life devoted to children. Do the young generation know the person of Janusz Korczak? The research conducted among children and teenagers (182 pupils) in 5 schools show that 87% respondents know who Janusz Korczak was. Pupils answered: a teacher and a tutor, a friend of children, a writer and a doctor. However, only 36% of the respondents read the book written by Janusz Korczak. So all the best should be done to introduce the figure of Janusz Korczak to the young generation so he should be widely known among the young people.
