Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the possibilities of using selected multivariate methods to analyse phenomena described with longitudinal data. Two approaches based on models with latent variables are described. The first approach is based on the structural equation model-ling and, more precisely, on the latent growth modelling. This model assumes that changes are continuous processes characterised by variables the realizations of which differ between objects. The other approach is based on the functional data analysis. One of the methods for analysing functional data is the functional principal components analysis which has the advantages of the principal components analysis and enables analysing data with dynamic nature.
