Summary/Abstract: Career coaching and career counselling are two types of therapy aiming at preparing, coaching, and guiding the individuals for their professional paths. Career coaching is solution-oriented and career counselling is process-driven. In both cases, process has some stages that the counsellor follows and guides the clients towards their objective through discussions and exercises. The said exercises can be used across several disciplines. Thanks to the main author’s experience in counselling and both authors’ experience in EFL teaching, we deemed we could implement some of the exercises used in the counselling sessions in the EFL class with the purpose of raising the student’s awareness on their competences and skills and help them design CV and cover letter with ease. This cross-discipline approach can prove helpful for teachers and students as well as applicants in elaborating appropriate applications.
