Summary/Abstract: The measures imposed by the state authorities between March and November 2020 in the context of the Coronavirus pandemic have led to important decisions related to the approach to the processing of personal data on the health of data subjects. Unlike other fields, the sports industry has faced the management of personal data in a more dynamic form because the exposure of information to the public is among the main customs of representatives of sports clubs, federation presidents or fitness center owners. Cancellation of a football match due to illness appears to be impossible without announcing the names of the athletes in question, although disclosure of personal data on their health would not be legally possible without their prior consent. This article aims to analyze if the provisions of the GDPR were taken into account during this period, which were the measures that processors had to take for the protection of personal data of data subjects and last but not least, to bring some recommendations for compliance that can be applied in the future in the sports industry, not only in the context of the pandemic, but also normally as good practice in an area that has demonstrated multiple vulnerabilities over time.
