Summary/Abstract: Economics is the social science concerned with the economic process, i.e. with making the best possible choices based on the calculation of gains and losses. The presented set of tasks and case studies constitute a preparation material intended to facilitate making the optimal economic decisions. The publication contains guidelines for developing effective diagnostic and problem-solving techniques, while maintaining a multi-faceted approach to the topics under discussion. The tasks and case studies reflect the dilemmas currently facing entrepreneurs, policy-makers and consumers. The latest solutions based on mathematical economics and analysis have also been included, with an emphasis on a clear and straightforward presentation of the subject.
