Summary/Abstract: The report researches the labor market in the Construction sector. It is one of the leading sectors in the Bulgarian economy. Regardless of the phases of the economic cycle in which it is lo-cated, construction has a significant contribution to the economic growth. It has a relatively constant share in the gross domestic product. At this time, it is one of the most sensitive to the economic crisis and shocks. It recovers relatively slowly. Labor migration and uncompetitive incomes further exac-erbate the negative trends. A leading trend in the development of the employees and the average salary in the sector has been identified. It is done a comparative analysis of the effect of the global financial and economic crisis on labor market indicators. Employment is found to be much more sensitive to the crisis than salary. Estimates have been done on the future values of labor market.
