Summary/Abstract: The issue of extracurricular activities remains a priority for the competent institutions. Research carried out in Romania and around the world claims that extracurricular activities are organized by the school, by other institutions of the educational system and by various NGOs. This article aims to find out the opinion of teachers about their type, purpose, as well as their impact on the development of young people, following a questionnaire-based research. The results obtained show us that the organization of extracurricular activities remains a continuous concern for teachers, by actively involving them in their design and realization, aiming at achieving the ends of education. These activities are aimed at development of social skills: communication, cooperation, interaction with different people (87,9%), emotional development (42.3%), active involvement in community life (41,3%). Extracurricular activities carried out by teachers always target the problems or expectations of the community: educational (164 choices), moral, (140 choices) social (136 choices), spiritual (104 choices), less the family ones.
