Summary/Abstract: Modern education and training put the pupil and the teacher at the center of itsprocess. The pupil becomes an active part of this process, but with the great support of his teacher. The purpose of this paper is to point to the teacher as a factor of encouraging creativity. The emphasis is on the competences of the teacher and his desirable human traits. The paper also deals with creative teaching methods and a creative classroom that is a condition for creative expression. The character of the teacher must necessarily include a pedagogical approach that respects the student's personality, innovation and originality. This creates favorable conditions for a creative atmosphere, creative work and creative process leading to a creative product.
