GERMAN-BOSNIAN CORONA-GLOSSARY AS A RESULT OF ONLINE TEACHING

Summary/Abstract: Language is constantly changing, both in time and in space. Changes in language occur especially during a coronavirus pandemic. Given that due to the aforementioned pandemic, teaching takes place online, the idea arose that in the subject Theory of Translation I we are looking for new words created during the coronavirus, in German and Bosnian. For German, the research of the German Language Institute in Mannheim served as a basis, while the equivalents, where they existed, were excerpted by researching online platforms in Bosnian. The result of this comprehensive research is a German-Bosnian corona-glossary. The aim of this paper is to present the results of this extensive research which included about 1400 words in German and Bosnian. In this regard, this paper will have two goals: 1. to explore all those words that are already known, have only been given a new meaning (Maskenprflicht"mandatory wearing of a mask" - previously referred exclusively to the rule of dress for going to some carnival entertainment), those words that originated in German and Bosnian during the pandemic (Maskomat / maskomat "machine from which protective masks can be bought"), and words borrowed from other languages (english Lockdown / lockdown); 2. to analyze all those corona-words that have no equivalent in the Bosnian language, and to draw a conclusion in this regard (words, which refer to the economy and the assistance provided by the state, is much less in the Bosnian language). The focus of the contribution of this paper is the improvement of the study of neologisms, both in German and in Bosnian, and contrastive linguistics.
