Summary/Abstract: The proportion of unemployed people is falling since 2013 and reached 5.19% in 2016. Employment growth is mainly due to a large increase demand for workers in the manufacturing industry, which employs more men and women than in the EU 28 and more than in tertiary sector. This employment growth causes shortages of qualified labors on the market. In August 2016 the Government of the Czech Republic approved Initiative Industry 4.0, which aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the Czech Republic. This article aims to analyze the development of unemployment and the effects of the fourth industrial revolution on this market and to specify the needs of restructuralization of education. The article includes SWOT analysis of the labor market of the Czech Republic and its possible future development with impact on regional unemployment.
