Summary/Abstract: The first edition of the classic work “Ancient Greek Legends and Myths” by Nikolai A. Kuhn, with a translation by Nikola Mankov, was published during the time of socialism – in 1960. Numerous revisions adapted for students followed, the purpose of which was to transform the text into the most suitable for learners option for easier perception. Much later – in 2021, a modern revision was published under the editorship of Ivan Genov, which, like the first edition, is close to Kuhn’s original text, but with a new reading– translation of names, realities, etc. a new editorial approach. The article is focused on the applied models of adaptation of classical content in two periods with different social and cultural contexts.
