Summary/Abstract: Tourism plays an important role and contributes to the overall economic growth and development of the country. As a dynamic industry, tourism contributes to the strengthening of many activities, such as transportation, services, and trade. Statistical data on tourist traffic in Bosnia and Herzegovina were constantly increasing until the outbreak of COVID-19. Intact natural, cultural and historical treasures, multicultural tradition and customs are attractive factors that draw tourists to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina. Other factors affect the development of tourism. This paper analyzes the natural, cultural and historical resources, legislation and organization of institutions as fundamental settings of tourism development in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through primary research, the paper identifies possibilities and limitations for the faster development of tourism. The test methods used are the chi-square test and Cronbach’s alpha.
