Summary/Abstract: The current research argues the issue of the origin and evolution of the written tradition concept in the life of the Church. Developed by ancient Sumerians, the writing technique has gradually entered the Church, becoming the favorite method of its servants when making official pronouncements. This option was justified by three arguments. First of all, it gave doctrinal certainty and protected the believers from the risk of dogmatized content distortion. Secondly, it facilitated sharing the faith teaching when the preacher could not be present in the missionary field whenever it was necessary. Third, it was a guarantee that the future generations would have access to their content, for witness and for trust. Based on these arguments, the written tradition considerably expanded, so Church developed a true art of printing.
