Summary/Abstract: The development of performance evaluation indicators in public sector organizations is a complex process. It must provide information that can be quantitatively and qualitatively assessed to ensure compliance with legal requirements, effectiveness, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the role of the control function in defining methodological frameworks and procedural steps for performance evaluation, which will ensure optimal objectivity and usefulness of the criteria, as well as preliminary, ongoing, and follow-up assessments.
