Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to demonstrate the cultural conditions which brought about the embracing of the bizarre forms of struggle for the separate identity of the Macedonians. The article discusses certain phenomena which occurred in the social life and in the culture of Macedonia, which intensified only in the 21st century. Special emphasis wasput on the architectural phenomenon of the project known as Skopje 2014. The articlepresents an absurd layer of reality in a country ruled by totalitarian authorities.
