Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present different approaches to diversity management. In order to achieve the aim of the paper the Author introduces the historical perspective on diversity ideology. Firstly it is discussed how the attitude towards the idea of diversity has changed in the USA. The starting point was the era of a strong tendency to work within and manage homogenous groups, then the equal employment opportunity (EEO)/ affirmative action (AA) approaches and the concept of multiculturalism appeared and
finally the inclusion issue was defined. Some basic assumptions of affirmative action and diversity management are also defined. Subsequently propositions of chosen approaches to diversity within organization are described. The analysis is based on the literature review.
