Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present the concept of working people with disabilities from the perspective of capability approach. The key points of this approach are capabilities and functioning. The method of form analysis of people with disabilities requires to pay attention to the commodities that are available to them as well as conversion factors of these commodities, since they may forejudge ways of functioning that are within reach of people with disabilities, especially they may forejudge whether, or not to take up a job. This approach may be useful in social policy, including the labour market policy. People with disabilities (considering their dysfunctions and their interaction with the world that surrounds them) constitute a sensitive group on the labour market. The analysis of their situation from different points of view allows to evaluate their placement in a more realistic way. The results of this short analysis show the necessity to individualize the approach to people with disabilities and to apply more flexible instruments on the labour market, better adjusted to their specific needs.
