Summary/Abstract: The object of analysis is familial terms used in the function of forms of address. The factual material comes from Polish novels of manners and their Russian translations. The study demonstrates that the familial terms are most frequently diminutives, which are indicative of a positive attitude of the speaker toward the addressee of an utterance.
