Summary/Abstract: Language is realized, first and foremost, as text and users of language have to cope with texts. They have to make sense of them and to produce them. The top priority of second language teaching process, therefore, is to help learners engage with texts. There are a number of ways that texts are made cohesive and these cohesive devices are traditionally classified at the level of lexis, grammar and discourse.
