Summary/Abstract: Currently, discourse on universities is directed towards managerial thinking, which arouses scepticism of the academia. The author argues that the economization of language does not necessarily cause the rejection of values cherished by universities. Economy is not merely learning about economy, but also about social relationships between people. Arguments supporting this point of view are found, among others, in a report published in 2015 by the National Chamber of Commerce. The designed outline of the cultural reform for the years 2020 — 2030 — 2040, however, did not include a reflection on the role of academic teaching. This missing link is filled in by the author of the following article. She analyzes classes taught by Ph.D. students and aimed at the collective discovering of meanings and intertwining of old and new ideas characteristic for the culture of convergence.
