Summary/Abstract: Contemporary Polish studies enter into relationships with various fields of art and science. They use tools of comparative research. Lessons of the Polish language and literature could also be based on the linking of reading materials to contexts presented in multimedia thematic modules. Such a strategy of learning a native language proved effective in Australia. This technique assists in consolidating the dominant position of literature among other media, in updating literary classics, in developing skills of contextual reading, writing, listening, speaking and cultural participation. Reconciliation of the content of learning by representatives of various disciplines and societies provides education with social support. However, comparative interpretation strategies require adequate educational policy, organized educational system, competent teachers, technical facilities as well as financial resources. Lack of these may result in essentialism, simplifications and the dominance of media coverage over literature. Invalid, reconstructive or trivial interpretations replicating undesirable stereotypes and destructive content may arise because adaptation of comparative strategies requires careful preparation of both teaching materials and the learning process.
