The Roman law heritage is present even today in all legislations which are part of the European civil law system. Since one of the most stable parts of all civil codes is the one concerning the intestate inheritances, in the light of the inheritance rights of the surviving spouse and the classes of heirs, this article attempts to highlight the perpetuation of some characteristics of the intestate succession since the late Roman law till the modern era in France and Germany, without overlooking some aspects of our old legal systems. Our analysis will confirm that some of the principles laid down in Justinian’s legislation survived till nowadays.

In this age of globalisation, a Translators’ House is a sign of the times. What is a Translators’ House? It’s a place where the translator of a poem, play, essay, story or novel written in the local language can go, for some weeks, to work on, finish, and/or polish his/her translation into another language, usually his/her own mother tongue. Not surprisingly, small languages are the most likely to establish Translators’ Houses: the one in Amsterdam, dedicated to the translation of Dutch literature into the world languages, is a case in point. The Hungarian Translators’ House is located in Balatonfüred, the oldest resort town along Lake Balaton. Mineral water with medicinal properties was found in Füred in the early 18th century, and people were soon coming to drink the waters, and bathe in them. But it was only about a century later, in what would come to be called Hungary’s Age of Reform, that the town became a fullfledged resort, boasting also a summer theatre for holidaymakers’ amusement. In 1831, the old wooden structure was replaced by a permanent building; in keeping with the ongoing linguistic revival, it was one of the first theatres in the country where plays and operettas were put on in Hungarian, not German.[...]

Our paper tackles some aspects of food in La Plaça del Diamant (1962) by Catalan writer Mercè Rodoreda (1908-1983). We examine the very abundant presence of food-related elements and we analyze some of the functions acquired by food isotopies throughout the novel, as a marker of characters’ desires, personality and life stages.

It was in 2007 when I finally decided to visit the Pasta Museum. I had avoided the place in all my previous visits to Rome – some of them quite long; sometimes I did it on purpose because it seemed to me that the entry fee was too large compared to what I thought such a museum could display, sometimes simply because I had to dedicate my time to other priorities. However, meeting a friend in Rome, who was more knowledgeable and more familiar with museums than me, enabled me to visit at least two very interesting museums that very year, which otherwise I would have missed all the time, but for her firm and welcoming suggestion. The two museums I visited are the Pasta Museum and the Canova-Tadolini Workshop-Museum.

An investigation of energy consumption saving opportunities in Jordanian pharmaceutical industry has been carried out in this paper, current status of energy consumption, possible saving techniques, and recommendations that could be implemented successfully through Energy Saving Program (ESP) is explored. All variables that influence energy consumption are considered accordingly using a suitable methodology. This methodology integrates a simulation programs into the analysis process; thereafter an accurate analysis and a reliable assessment for energy consumption is provided. HAP 4.41software has been used to simulate and to calculate energy consumption and costs. One biggest Jordanian pharmaceutical facility that produces Penicillin and Cephalosporin products is considered as an illustrative example, the facility consists of four main energy consumption centers and includes consuming systems namely; HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning system), lighting, compressed air, steam boilers, and miscellaneous equipments like computers, refrigerators, fume hoods, etc. Historical energy consumption quantities are estimated, details of energy data are tabulated accordingly input data files for the computer simulation method using HAP 4.41 are created. Energy saving recommendations has been decided and incorporated into the ESP system. The paper concluded with a good quality room of energy saving opportunities that mirrored positively on the national energy bill with a reduction of 13% of the total annual energy consumption.

Modern virtual reality (VR) technology has a growing impact on further areas of the new digital economy. This is possible due to the declining prices of electronic components, the rapid implementation of new technologies in the market of goods and services and the increasing availability of advanced devices that use the emerging new technology. The purpose of this article is to present the potential of using VR technology in the real estate market. The article identifies solutions that are already successfully operating in the market as well as examples of possibilities for the future use of this technology. The main advantage of using VR in the real estate market is innovation and a multi-sensory form of presenting offers. The presented results of the studies concern the potential of VR technology (the impression that the technology exerts on users, ease of use, functionality of the equipment, the reality of the evoked feelings, possible areas of application). These results are also part of a larger study on VR equipment, which consisted of several stages.

The way these relationships are managed can have an overwhelming effect on the current activities and on the success of the company. Public relations have a role within the company, the organization and administration of the complex system of commercial, economic, political, administrative, social, media, cultural relations in which the company evolves. The expectations of all customers are increasing, as competing banks introduce high standards of services. It is becoming increasingly clear to a bank that one of the most important things is to maintain its current clientele, but also to attract new customers, and these things are possible only by building a positive image both inside and outside the organization. The article aims to make a qualitative analysis on the ways in which OTP Bank outlines and creates a positive image using the tools of the public relations activity.

Reading or interpreting non-verbal language is a learning skill that requires continuous practice. The present study is conducted on a sample of 100 engineering students and identifies a set of theoretical rules specific to this type of language. Observations have been analysed in interactions with them in different situations, without knowing that they were being evaluated. Thus, the results of the study highlight elements related to how they are attentive to the surrounding environment, whether they are active observers or not, whether they can recognize and decode universal and private nonverbal behaviours. We have also analysed clustered or successive types of behaviours, reasons of behavioural changes that can signal changes in thoughts, emotions, interests or intentions, and their way of identifying by nonverbal communication, detecting untrue or false nonverbal signals.
