The complete history of the Treaty of Trianon should necessarily include its final phase, the ratification of the Treaty by the signatories, as a condition for its entry into force. By analyzing the history of its ratification (1920-1921), our survey makes considerations on the historiography of this Treaty and on the need to broaden its scope at the level of 21st century standards. The decisive factors in the process and implementation of the Treaty have been - if we ignore the divergences over details - the consciousness of general political responsibility, of the raison d’état of each signatory Party, of World Peace as the Supreme Reason. Therefore, the Treaty of Trianon may be considered as a valuable chapter in the knowledge of history, a test of conscience and responsible reflection that creatively look forward to the world of today and tomorrow.

At the beginning of XXIst century, we note a complex and flexible type of order (both inter-national and global), involving thus, a multi-level approach. There are global problems needing to receive attention from all states, as the right of the planet to be protected against any aggression, the right of future generations to enjoy the benefits of living on a stable, prosperous and safe planet, the right to durable prosperity, and other legal extensions of the so-called category of solidarity rights. In the framework of this tension between the neo-westphalian trend and the globalist one, we can pledge for the benefits of recognizing that the principle of sustainable development has an imperative erga omnes character, due to the necessity of protecting human civilization and the planet Earth from augmentation of polluting industries all around the world and from other dangers to the health of this planet and to its inner capacity of supporting a prosperous human life. Principles of international law are remaining, in this perspective, as paramount for defining the main directions of the international XXIst order, due to the nation-states revival and to the sovereignty concept.

Cet article se propose d’analyser d’une manière non-exhaustive l’utilisation de l’infinitif et de l’impératif dans les textes en français scientifique et technique. Il s’agit surtout d’exposer les situations où l’on utilise les deux modes verbaux, notamment pour des consignes et/ou des interdictions – dans les manuels d’instructions pour différents appareils ou équipements, dans les articles de vulgarisation scientifique ou dans les publicités. L’article présentera également les nuances particulières (formes négatives, présence des formules de politesse, confusions entre les deux modes, présence des déterminants, etc.) et l’emploi de ces deux modes verbaux dans certains contextes, ainsi que quelques principes pour rédiger des consignes efficaces (rendre évident le caractère obligatoire des consignes, formuler des consignes homogènes du point de vue de la syntaxe, éliminer les marques de subjectivité). En guise de conclusion, nous proposerons brièvement quelques types d’exercices qu’on peut valoriser en classe de français sur objectifs spécifiques pour pratiquer et approfondir l’emploi de l’infinitif et de l’impératif en contexte scientifique et technique.

The article is devoted to solving the problem of development of methodological foundations of the formation and improvement of the mechanism of economic motivation as a strategic imperative of personnel management at an industrial enterprise. The conceptual and terminological apparatus of the research has been formed. Particularly, the author's point of view on the meaning of the concepts “imperative”, “strategic imperative”, “strategic imperatives of personnel management”, “economic motivation” is presented.The author’s definition of the essence of strategic imperatives of personnel management as a set of policies, programmes and specific actions for the formation and development of productive capabilities of employees, as well as mechanisms for their effective use in the long term was suggested. The mechanisms are focused on the achievement of strategic goals of enterprise development taking into account its resource potential.The theoretical foundations have been summarized. The essence and economic nature of the mechanism of employee’s motivation as a strategic imperative for personnel management at an industrial enterprise were clarified. It is noted that the main motivating factor of the employees is to get guaranteed wages and to meet other primary material needs. Structuring the set of tools of economic motivation to ensure efficient work and continuous professional development of staff creates additional opportunities for a deeper understanding of the impact of motivation methods on the activity of company staff in order to enhance its innovative component in the strategic perspective and the level of efficiency of work with the methods of economic impact.The strategic directions of improvement of the mechanism of economic motivation on the basis of creating the system of material incentives at an industrial enterprise as a component of the process of production budgeting and financial activity have been offered. Increasing the effectiveness of the mechanism of economic motivation on the basis of budgeting is ensured through the measures connected with the use of the budget indicators of the responsibility centers at the enterprise as the basis of bonuses. The increase in the effectiveness of the mechanism also takes into account the influence of certain divisions of the enterprise as centers of responsibility for determining the value of the bonus fund. It necessary to determine the conditions, indicators and rates of remuneration for certain divisions and employees of the enterprise, including those related to the formation of innovation portfolio and innovation policy.

General Directory for Catechesis (GDC) number 39 requires catechists to narrate the events of salvation history, in order “to make clear the profound mysteries that they contain.” A positive response to this commendation of the Augustinian catechetical form by the universal Church and the imperative it carries with it, requires that we understand the narratio described in his work De Catechizandis Rudibus. In that work Augustine makes use of the famous theme from his Confessions, the cor inquietum, a fundamental element of his anthropology and a methodological principle for his evangelization and catechesis. That anthropological and catechetical principle of the restless heart serves as the foundation for an intensely personal form of catechesis, one attuned to the particular needs of the heart of each inquirer, as well as a universal norm for presenting the Gospel to all men and women, as the GDC makes clear.

The phenomenon of slavery existed throughout the entire period of the ancient world and met with interest from both Greek and Roman philosophers. Despite the emerging views of various philosophers criticizing slavery as a social phenomenon, no theory of slavery was formulated then. The philosopher who-, in both his works and correspondence, included numerous references to the situation of slaves and the institution of slavery was M.T. Cicero. Searching for humanism in Cicero’s views on the above-mentioned issue, attention was drawn to the principles of the Stoic doctrine, within which the concept of human freedom was formulated, and to the essence of natural law. These concepts made it possible to analyse the discussed problem in the context of the words of Terence Homo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto. And as regards humanism in Cicero’s views, it is evident when he recognizes a human being in a slave; when he says that the principles of justice must be observed towards people from the lowest rank, which is the rank of slaves; when he firmly states that slavery is among the worst things that can happen to the human being. On the other hand, we see Cicero’s completely different views on slaves when he talks about punishing slaves, „keeping a tight rein on them,” or „destiny by nature for the best to rule others, and with great benefit for weaker beings”; also when he emphasizes his negative attitude towards the liberation of slaves. To conclude it should be emphasised that this characteristic feature of Cicero, namely his lack of uniformity of views on various philosophical doctrines, which we can also find in his views on slavery and the rank of slaves, does not prevent us from seeing a humanist in Cicero who, with his sense of justice, advocating the stoic doctrine and the principles of natural law, moved very slowly towards the stoic moral philosophy and all the ethical principles that Christianity would bring.

The issue of the social categorization of the addressee in imperative statements is a constituent question of the larger problem of communicative imperative strategies and tactics in different linguistic cultures. The subject of the research is the means of social deixis in Russian imperative statements. Imperative forms of Russian verbs can reveal relative or absolute social status of the addressee due to their strongly marked conative and phatic functions. This refers to informal and formal address pronouns – or so-called “T and V forms of address”. The capacity of a verb to indicate the social status of the addressee, the psychological or social distance between the speaker and the hearer makes it one of the grammaticalized means of social deixis. Impersonal verbal form can also be an instrument of the socialcategorization of the addressee because of its primary perlocutive effect and its traditional use in the situations that presuppose a strict hierarchy and therefore social and psychological distance between the addresser and the addressee.Apart from the said grammatical means, the Russian imperative statements may contain lexical means of social deixis.Both grammar and lexical means can be combined in the statements, and their use can be marked or unmarked. The article proposes a new organization of the social deixis category in the verbal imperative statements of the Russian language on the basis on the integrative communicative approach. This enables to use the research materials and results in the preparation of theoretical and practical courses on communicative grammar of Russian as a foreign language. The ethno-specificity of the issue determines the practical significance of the study: some linguistic categories show a greater connection between cultural values, social hierarchy in society, and their conceptualization in language than others,and the ability to use them correctly underlies the communicative competence of an individual.

The study of the functional-semantic field of the imperative in journalistic style makes it possible to define the meaning of imperative on each circle of the field in the Ukrainian language. The papers focuses on the inventory and comparison of constituents at the level of lexical units, morphology, and syntax, which belong to the structure of the functional-semantic field of the imperative in journalistic discourse. The structure of the imperative field (core, core part, close and far peripheries), its organization and quantitative filling of its levels were determined. The characteristic features of paradigmatic structure and the functioning of lexical, morphological, and syntactic means of the functional-semantic field of the imperative in journalistic style were identified. The purpose of this work involves a comprehensive analysis of the structural organization of the functional-semantic field of the imperative in journalistic discourse, the study of its structure, and the quantitative content of its circles. The typology of the functional-semantic field of imperative in the modern Ukrainian language requires detailed research. The paradigmatic structure and lexical, morphological, and syntactic means of the functional-semantic field of imperative in journalistic style were described.

The analysis of the legal regime of the nullity of the civil legal act has as its starting point - in the overwhelming majority of cases - the principles of putting the parties back in the previous situation, to abolish the effects of the subsequent act, in the context in which the act, legally affected by nullity cannot produce legal effects. These rules tend to change in the public procurement legislation, in the situations where the violation of the imperative norms of the law is no longer likely to cancel the effects of the legal act. The decisions {verdicts} of the judges who decide the cases of the nullity of the public procurement contract can play a decisive role in regards to the modification – both of the effects of the contract and of the Will of the parties, which was the basis for the conclusion of the legal relationship.

The issue of simplifying criminal proceedings has been regulated in the Romanian legislation and is the result of several factors involved in criminal justice system. They were primarily determined by the principle of due process and its particular feature structured around the aim of solving the criminal cases in reasonable time. This paper focuses on the issues of criminal cases after a considerable period of time which has passed from the new Code of criminal procedure of Romania entered into force. The legal expectations are currently in the lawyersʼ attention in order for them to outline the main achievements gained in the field of respecting the participantsʼ rights during the special criminal procedure. The paper is based on the conceptual research combined with the jurisprudence references provided in particular criminal cases. One question is related to the issue if simplifying criminal proceedings is the result of the local interest or the European imperative. The result of the study has concluded that the criminal proceedings is more accustomed with the idea of delivering judicial decisions by using the principle of due process in a comprehensive environment, featured by the appropriate simplification of criminal proceedings.

Fritz Jahr (1895-1953) is widely recognized as the Father of Bioethics. In 1926, he introduced the term “bio-ethics” in an article published in Das Mittelschulwesen. Influenced by Wilhelm Wundt's comparative studies on physiology and psychology in humans, animals, and plants, as well as the philosophical musings on the possible soul-life of plants by Fr. Th. Fechner and others in the late 19th century, Jahr sought to redefine ethical considerations. He expanded Kant’s Categorical Imperative into what he called the Bioethical Imperative: “Respect every living being in principle as an end in itself and treat it, if possible, as such.” While Kant’s imperative was grounded in the "Sanctity of the Moral Law," Jahr's Bioethical Imperative is based on the "Sanctity of Life," emphasizing compassion for all living beings and coexistence.

Imperative sentences, often characterized by their directive nature, exhibitseveral syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic challenges in the study of linguistics. In most situations, imperative sentences often lack an explicit subject which typically leads to the generalization that the implied and recoverable subject is the second person. Linguistic research has challenged this view as itdraws attention to contexts where subjects are employed in an overt, explicit way. The present paper explores these contexts and investigates the syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic dimensions of the subject in imperative sentences which traditionally omit overt subjects.

We provide a phenomenological interpretation of the rise of responsibility as a key concept of contemporary ethics. If we consider the philosophical tradition at large, responsibility has emerged as a concern, or even the center of attention, of ethical reflection only in relatively recent times. How can we account for this emergence? We argue that today’s pervasive concern with responsibility envisages a responsibility that is constitutively “social,” and that the thus understood responsibility traces back to a more original trait of sense, which presently informs our relation to the world. This trait we call “responsive.” Hence, our contention is that, when in contemporary ethical discourse we speak of (social)responsibility, the latter has a fundamentally responsive character. The responsive character of the contemporary concept of responsibility is related to the appearance of a new kind of imperative, which we call “systemic.” Originating from the unique imperative of “the system of universal existence,” systemic imperatives have the form of factual urgencies, which, while demanding an urgent and effective response, exclude the scope of what traditional ethics conceives as the perfectibility of beings. Our diagnosis of responsive responsibility in the horizon of the systemic imperative is guided by the phenomenon of “original responsibility”, which we obtain from Heidegger’s hermeneutic phenomenology. “Original responsibility” refers to the relation between man’s being and being itself. The form of this relation is that man’s being consists in a (needed) response to being itself. Based on this hermeneutic framework, we show how the kind of threat which informs the systemic imperative (here exemplified by Hans Jonas’s “ecological imperative”) holds in store the expectability of a new “perfection” of beings.

Living in ‘Interesting Times’ as the Imperative of Asking Unimagined Questions

This article serves as an overview and introduction to the current issue of ‘Philosophy. Sociology’, which is thematically divided into five sections: epistemology, phenomenology, social philosophy, ethics, logic and the historical development of philosophical thought. The author provides a brief description of each of the twelve texts, emphasising that, despite addressing various topics, they all reflect the spirit of the present time. The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, large language models, and technology, along with political and social turmoil, including the war in Ukraine, have played significant roles in the emergence of the texts featured in this issue. Even when these topics are not explicitly addressed, the historical context in which these discussions unfold shapes the intellectual atmosphere and influences how scholars deal with pressing philosophical questions. Topics include cognition, language games, human enhancement and its ethical implications, the concept of knowledge, the nature of education, the axiology of military leadership, conspiracy theories, the phenomenology of evil, technological morality, the postmodern urban context, and more.
