Collected in three large volumes, it reveals a large number of texts that have been partially or never published in Romanian, but enjoying broadcast at Western radio stations. Articles from press, collected in the two volumes, are arranged in chronological order and what we surely find out is that the author has become a declared opponent of the communist regime even while it was still in force. He wrote about communist camps while in Romania and continued to expose the Ceausescu regime in exile in Paris after the final departure. Even after the 1989 revolution the publicist does not diminish his accusations against those who maintained the evils of communism, covering them with speeches about democracy. The writer’s focus is language which, beyond the social message, has obvious literary features.

Tourism used to represent mainly an opportunity to travel and have fun. Today it is defined as a socioeconomic phenomenon, and it has become one of the largest most profitable sectors of the economy, with a significant inventory of terminology. The speed with which it has spread and become international, together with an increasing development of the tourist industry, offers an instructive illustration of the linguistic evolution of the given domain, within which the general phenomena, such as word formation, the evolution of meanings, lexical borrowing, syntactic computation, the interference of registers, etc., are manifested.

After the fall of communism in December 1989, a feverish period of political and social changes ensued. A new political order took shape, instituted by and instituting a new social imaginary. In the process, old myths were brought back to life in order to give meaning and significance to the new reality, as well as to determine political and social cohesion and coherence. This chapter looks at the structures of the post-communist social imaginary in Romania through the lenses of the mythology constructed to make sense of the past and to provide significance to the present.

The translation of sacred text into Romanian is the greatest achievement in Bible studies in St. Antim’s time. Although very expensive, the books that were out of print were now much closer to believers than before they were translated, first because the doctrinal barriers within the Synodal framework that allowed the authorization of these Church translations were overcome. At the isagogic level, introductory texts point springs, translators, or recensors, and general data about inspirational authors, place and time of writing.

The authors also try to answer the question if and to what degree the aesthetic of literary texts serves political themes.

"Reduta Ordona" [Ordon’s Redoubt] is one of the most widely recognised poems by Mickiewicz. The poem has frequently been referred to in literature and therefore it has become a sort of a myth which shows in a very apologetic and absurd manner the most crucial features of Polish ethos – patriotism, struggle for independence and the willingness to die for all these values. Being a miniature of a battle epic poem, Ordon’s Redoubt has been examined in terms of how closely Mickiewicz copied the reality of those military events. In many cases the reality presented in the poem turned out to be rather different from the historical truth – Ordon did not die from the explosion. Apart from historical inconsistencies, a dispute concerning the literal shape of the poem can also be triggered. Writing the poem, Mickiewicz used his own poetic experience but also S. Garczyński’s experience of romantic military attempts. Yet, he had gone far beyond the role models who inspired him, creating a powerful and universal catastrophic vision. Multiple perceptions of the myth, which Ordon’s Redoubt undoubtedly is, are the reasons for a number of different ideas to commemorate the place of the battle which itself becomes a metaphor of the fate of the entire world regardless of having no strictly defined boundaries as an area of the battle.

The paper focuses on the scope of the interim measures requested by persons under the jurisdiction of Council of Europe member states during a health crisis. The case law of the European Court of Human Rights shows three types of requests for interim measures. Given the large number of complaints concerning the violation of Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights relating to conditions of detention and ineffective measures to prevent the spread of Covid virus, many of the provisional measures concerned the same positive obligation of the State as the corresponding fund. Article 3, but also that of Article 5 of the European Convention. The second category of interim measures concerned variants of violation of Articles 8 and 9 of the European Convention, requiring action on compulsory vaccination schemes for certain categories of civil servants. Last but not least, the use of green certificates has been a concern for those who have decided to apply to the Strasbourg court for interim measures. The prudent position of the European Court of Human Rights was in line with the dynamics of restrictive measures imposed in the context of the health crisis at both international and national level. The balance between justified restrictions on the protection of collective interests and the failure to ensure the effective functioning of the essential systems of states and civil society in the medium and long term must be the mainstay of the main European and national human rights mechanisms.

The views expressed below are intended to contribute to clarifying the problem of the commission of an offence by a person who has taken advantage of the situation arising from the state of emergency, state of emergency or state of siege (Article 77(g) of the Criminal Code), which gives rise to conceptual, theoretical and practical difficulties in the current context. This is why, in the following pages, we will point out that the legally qualified aggravating circumstances are, as is well known, of two kinds: general, provided for in the general part of the Criminal Code, and special, provided for in the special part about certain offences. In support of this idea, we point out that in judicial practice the question has arisen as to whether, if a person commits a theft with a sanitary mask on his face, the aggravating form of the offence will apply to him on conviction? In conclusion, we maintain that the legislator has considered that, not only in the case of certain offences but in general, whatever the offence committed, if the perpetrator has committed it by taking advantage of the state of emergency or curfew, this must be considered an aggravating circumstance.

The article describes different stances on music-light relationships from historical and methodological perspectives and aims at verifying to what extent the hypothesis on the ontic semantic base of cross-modal correspondences is possible to be proven as far as music and light are concerned. The analysis of questions pertaining to metaphor and analogy was deemed as necessary point of departure, as they constitute methods most commonly used to associate both domains and to describe ways of perception of light and music. The historical review of attitudes toward analogy and metaphor is to show various functions and effectiveness of these perceptual mechanisms, which take into account the intuitive element in science, until today. Examples of conceptualisation of both notions by composers, combined with the latest results from experimental psychology and artificial intelligence research, prove that analogies created between light and sound are a natural way the mind functions, supporting complementary perceptual mechanisms and that they can be used for creative solutions of both scientific and artistic composers’ questions.
