„Haider” Vishala Bhardwaja, czyli jak Bollywood delegitymizuje indyjską władzę w Kaszmirze
This article analyses Vishal Bhardwaj’s film Haider, an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. In addition, the article provides basic information about other works of the Indian director, especially in the context of socio-political issues. The background of the events depicted in Haider is the war in Kashmir between India and Pakistan, which has been ongoing since 1947. The AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act), under which the father of the title character was arrested is discussed in passing in the paper. The film is also analyzed in the context of international law and the Indian Constitution to show how Haider delegitimizes Indian power in Kashmir.
