Adapting education to the labor market has become one of the fundamental tasks of education reform. The reform aims to prepare young people for actively participate in social and economic life in order to minimize difficulties arising from the psychological barriers rooted in society reared in a welfare state system, as well as the requirements posed by the current market economy and to reduce the lack of preparation for young people to active job search. Implementation of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) is the major change in the. conduct an external evaluation of the quality of education and state accreditation programs studies. Developed by the National Qualifications Framework colleges and relating them to EQF create the need to increase knowledge transfer to industry companies and public institutions – the Partnership for Transfer Knowledge (PTW), whose purpose is to promote and facilitate the flow of knowledge and innovation between universities and the economy.

Methodology of the environmental approach in higher education

This article dealing with the theoretical background of the environmental approach in higher education is grounded on the idea of the methodological approach as the conceptual basis of educational activity that defines its strategy and tactics, regulates its tools, resources, and has a two-tier structure that includes methodological and technological levels. The analysis of the basic concepts of the approach — environment, learning environment, educational environment of higher education — is done. The structure and functions of the educational environment of higher education are found. It is concluded that the environmental approach in higher education is a system of controlling subject’s actions within the educational environment of a higher educational institution aimed at acquiring characteristics of such an environment that would allow implementing the polystructural educational function successfully. THE TRANSITION TO UNIVERSITY OF AT-RISK GROUPS IN SPAIN: THE CASE OF STUDENTS FROM VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING

This paper looks at the process of integration and the trajectories through university of students entering university from vocational education and training within the context of degrees in the Social Sciences. The research involved a comprehensive and descriptive longitudinal study, based on a multi-strategy and systems methodology on two levels of analysis, one macro (the graduating cohort as a whole) and one micro (the analysis of a sample according to the type of student). The analysis was based on the students’ perception of their level of adaptation at two key points in time in their first year (the start of the academic year and the end of the first semester), together with student persistence over the first three years of study. The study population was 1,523 students who were taking new Bachelor’s-level undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Management (1,290) and Pedagogy (233) at the University of Barcelona (UB) in the 2010-11 cohort. Students gaining admission through vocational education and training accounted for 20.6% of the total: 260 in Business Administration and Management (20.2%) and 53 in Pedagogy (22.7%). The results show the differences between students from vocational education and training and those from post-compulsory secondary education as regards the various indicators of the transition to university examined in the study. These differences can only be interpreted in terms of the organisational context at study programme level.

If we refer to age the spirit that "all our knowledge of reality is a conceptual", are at the starting point in the course of our discussion, in consequence, for the development of the subject, it becomes essential to recall the universal conceptual categories such as: the man, the development of consciousness, freedom, subjectivity, responsibility, system of values, upbringing, education, health, skills and competencies, work, mobility, creativity and career and life. Illustrated catalog of universal concepts is characterized above all by the fact that they are based on different fields of scientific knowledge and the diverse human activities. We are interested in the most extensive behavioral context, associated above all with the professional development of employees and their career. In this sense, the conceptual categories listed above determine the specific content core of our Congress reflection. And if so, therefore, the structure of the introductory lecture to the extent reasonably enough can be attributed to the following problems and their thesis: 1) Analysis of conceptual and logical - in the context of the study theme. 2) Education and work contexts - theoretical and praxeological and duty. 3) The man - National - Employee - the ideal of our time. 4) Reflection generalizing - a man of knowledge, work and social responsibility and social trustworthiness.

Public health nurses building resilient health and social ecosystems in the EU

Nurses are the largest professional group in the health sector, mainly being frontline, 24 hours/7 days in a roll, 365 days a year. Nurses are frontline to coordinate care and empower patients and citizens. The present document is intended at guiding decisions about how public health services can be usefully deployed in the introduction and development of advanced roles for nurses. Advanced roles are seen as the way forward in order to improve access to care and patient outcomes, contain provider related costs and improve recruitment and retention rates through enhanced career prospects. In Poland many of nurses developed their skills to delivering high quality of care using the autonomy and independent practice in Primary Health Care. Introducing Advance Practice Nursing role it is a challenge which is new for polish health system and it is recommended by nursing authorities as Polish Nurses Association.

STUDENTS’ OPINIONS ABOUT THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GUIDANCE AND ORIENTATION MODULE IN TURKEY

The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of guidance and orientation module from the perspective of secondary school 9th grade students. “Effectiveness of the Guidance and Orientation Module Questionnaire” was used as a data gathering instrument. Altogether, 7353 students at grade 10 were involved in the study. The results suggest “guidance and orientation module” offers limited help to the students in realizing their own potential and getting familiar with their academic fields. Besides the results suggest significant differences between students on the basis of gender, school type and the branch of the teachers who taught the module. In general, taking into account the some difficulties faced during the implementation process; in the long run, it is possible to say that the Strengthening Vocational Education and Training (SVET) project and the guidance and orientation module will have positive effect on strengthening the Vocational Education System in Turkey.

Success stories. A view of initial vocational training through the eyes of former students

The paper reports the main results of a research that aimed to explore in depth the role that the experiences within the Salesians’ Vocational Training Centers played in influencing the personal and professional profile of former students. To this end, 54 former students from 6 Vocational Training Centers who have recognized as successful in work, personal life and social commitments were participated in the study. The research is not intended to "prove" that training leads to educational success, but to identify the conditions under which the training could promote educational success. Exploring the biographies of some of the lived experiences of former students, I was interested in particular to know what had allowed the trainees - who often come to CFP with heavy burdens, and with great difficulty against a certain type of school - to enhance their potential and succeed as adults, as respected professionals and individuals capable of taking responsibility for themselves and others. Research on training and life stories of former students become therefore also - and above all - a research on the practices of teachers and characteristics of learning environments, from the view of former students. Through the details of the stories collected and analyzed, it is possible to learn the characteristics of environments and educational practices that could assist in finding out the direction for offering best training. The contribution is divided into three parts. In the first, I tried to give a detailed account of how the research comes to take the current shape. The second part deals with the results focusing on the characteristics of the educational environment of the Vocational Training Centers and intervention strategies that the participants have found to be keys to their growth. The third part is the conclusion and offers a discussion of what emerges from the analysis of the data and highlights its major assets.

The personalistic view of responsibility: case study

The importance of responsibility in one‘s personal and professional life is undeniable. Employers expect their employees to have a responsible attitude towards their work. „Being responsible“ is seen as one of the necessary characteristics of a professional specialist. But what does „being responsible“ actually mean? What behavior is expected from a responsible employee? The term responsibility has many different meanings, which may cause problems in communication between employers and their employees setting clear expectations about the results that must be carried out at work. Responding to this problem, the authors of this article have set the goal of presenting the personality view of responsibility. Based on the theoretical part, the awareness and attitude of the employees of KMVTC towards the value of responsibility is explored. Research question: what dimensions of the personality conception of responsibility show up in KMVTC employees’ attitudes towards responsibility? The survey was conducted by presenting an open-ended questionnaire, designed using the unfinished sentences method. During August, 2014 the questionnaires were distributed among 180 employees. The filled-in questionnaires were returned by 101 employees. The qualitative data analysis applied the qualitative content analysis method. The survey results have shown that the respondents’ statements on their attitude towards responsibility are only partially in line with the dimensions of the personality conception of responsibility. While a fair number of respondents identify responsibility with one’s commitment to oneself or others, a number of the survey participants tend to have a legalistic view of responsibility, reducing it to the observance of certain decrees and regulations, making no direct link with the responsibility for another human being or oneself. The survey results indicate that KMVTC employees have quite different interpretations of the value of responsibility, tending to narrow its meaning. Identification of the demand of welders in the labor market of Lithuania

The shortage of welding specialists is a long-term problem in the labour market of Lithuania. Statistical datashow the lack of thousands specialists in this field with increasing gap between their supply and demand. Itcreates concern, because the shortage of skilled welders forces enterprises to refuse many profitable orders. In this article is presented the analysis of the reasons regarding the shortage of welding specialists in the labour market of Lithuania; also here are disclosed the gaps in the identification of the demand of welders and justifying the importance of this identification of demand for effective functioning of labour market. Referring to the results of research there can be stated, that the goal to satisfy the real needs of economy in welding specialists can be achieved by identifying the demand in terms of concrete qualifications of these specialists and in terms of numbers of required specialists. Absence of exact data in these fields creates the situation of uncertainty which does not permit smooth functioning of vocational guidance and vocational education and training of these specialists. As a consequence, it is not possible to ensure adequate reaction of the VET system to the demands of labour market. There are suggested instruments helping to identify the levels of qualifications and competences of welding specialists, to classify them into specialities and specialisations and to define the limits of their qualifications. There is also provided the model for identification of the demand of welding specialists in the national labour market. These measures create favourable preconditions for adequate reaction to the existing shortages of welding specialists and for the satisfaction of corresponding needs in the sectors of economy.

The structure of socio-cultural competence (self) development

Sociocultural competences are becoming increasingly important and significant in terms of employability, career, competitive abilities. Acquired and developed throughout one's lifetime, sociocultural competences create favorable conditions for successful survival and functioning in contemporary labor market. Effective teaching of methods of socialization is impossible without making an effort to conceptualize the key elements of culture in younger people's consciousness: principles of choice of values, basics of creativity, language, ethnos, art. The research aims at revealing the characteristics and orientations of formation of sociocultural competence that are characteristic of the VET processes. The following research methods have been used for the research: descriptive analysis of research sources and documents. Sociocultural competences manifest themselves in the processes of vocational education and training as a set of various abilities necessary for personal and professional life. Formation of sociocultural competences by teaching and learning in VET system is characterized by features based on value dimensions of the life of society and person: social skills (skills of communication, socialization and team work); social perception (skills of societal interpretation by proper choice of behaviour depending on social environment and situation); self-awareness (ability of performing analysis of own emotional state and helping other person perceive oneself and own emotions); attribution (ability to implement own potential in a social environment and analyze social roles); communication with peers (ability to adapt in a new environment by perceiving the attitudes that exist in it); cultural sensitivity (ability to understand and accept people from other sociocultural backgrounds, maintaining strong position when facing discriminatory actions); cultural awareness (ability to evaluate cultural differences and perceive and accept other person's attitudes and opinion); cultural knowledge (ability to communicate with people diplomatically, taking into account cultural differences)
