The paper presents the problem of the rights of the child from socially-pedagogical perspective and in connection with the threats of the World War II. Some perspectives are outlined in the foreground: “military complex” and “zone of the social solidarity”. With the first term, the totality of the negative psychical, physical and social consequences that children endured in the result of the military actions are marked. With the second term, different forms of help and actions for children`s protection in case of threat for their life and existence are marked.

The topics of civic education and children's rights are being discussed more and more frequently in the past 11 years after Bulgaria joined the EU. Civil education is expected to familiarize children with their "equal and inalienable rights, the most important of which are freedom, justice and peace in the world". The outcome of civic education cannot be just “simple voters”, but rather personalities concerned about the public good. Through the civic education, the moral basis of children's rights is internalized.

The study is devoted to Bulgaria’s role in the principal conceptions of Polish foreign policy between thetwo great wars. Both states functioned in a radically different geopolitical constellation of powers, however they had one similarity. Poland belonged to the major European beneficiaries of the World War I, because due to this conflict itregainedits independence after along period of partitions. Bulgaria lost the First World War. The country had to conclude a very uncomfortable peace treaty of Neuilly-sur-Seine. But both states were in conflict with themajority of their neighbors. A unique perspective for Polish-Bulgarian cooperation was possible in the framework of thePolish conception of “Intermarium” Bloc. Unfortunately, this vision appeared only as a theory.

The common enemy of the reborn Poland and the Ukrainian People’s Republic was Bolshevik Russia. On the initiative of the leaders of both countries: Józef Piłsudski and Symon Petlura, an alliance agreement was signed between Poland and the Ukrainian People’s Republic on 22 April 1920. Piłsudski treated cooperation with Ukraine as a key element of his broader plan to rebuild eastern Europe. The result of the concluded alliance was the participation of the Ukrainian army in defense of Poland against the Bolshevik invasion in the summer of 1920. However, the great military victory was largely wasted politically because no Ukrainian state was established. The Treaty of Riga, signed on March 18, 1921, signified de facto defeat of Piłsudski’s plans.

“Prometheanism” meant the political cooperation of interwar Poland with non-Russian peoples and nations in Russia directed against the tsarist, and later the Soviet empire. The Promethean movement included representatives of Ukraine (Ukrainian People’s Republic – UNR), Caucasus (Georgia, Azerbaijan, Mountaineers of the Northern Caucasus), Crimean and Volga Tatars, Turkestan and nations inhabiting Finland (Ingria, Komi, Karelia), as well as a part of the Don, Kuban and Terek Cossacks. This article focuses on the relations between the Polish side and individual nations and structures of the Promethean front, on those turning moments in its development, as well as on the political and organisational evolution of the Promethean movement.

It analyzes those cultural and historical prerequisites, which determine the specifics of the own – foreign opposition in the field of the literary language and explain the tolerance towards the foreign influences related to the orientation of our society towards European cultural models. The study is dedicated to the tough fight against child labor and upcoming 20th Anniversary of the adoption of the ILO Convention No. 182 on the worst forms of child labor. The study pays attention to the importance and contribution of this Convention in limiting the worst forms of child labor. In details are examined some of the worst forms of child labor with the attention to the criminal law protection of the child against the child trafficking, trafficking in children, sexual exploitation of children, child pornography and others in the sense of Bulgarian law. Through this study, the author concludes that Bulgarian criminal legislation is taking care and measures to deal with this growing problem in the conditions of a global economic crisis.

After the end of the World War One the old political habits were put under a serious test. The tough consequences of the conflict led to new ideologies that offered quick and easy recipes for coming out of the aftermath of the after military crisis. The Italian fascism, for example, promoted the vision of a strong state, guided by the Fascist Party and its leader. The leader, his party embodied the state. They were its image and content. These understandings were “further developed” by the German National Socialism, which added to them the racial hatred and the idea of the superiority of the Aryan. Everybody knows what the final of these political experiments was.

Voucher system of education implies the use of vouchers as instruments of financing public and private education. Unlike the traditional ways of financing education, the voucher system creates the assumptions for increasing the freedom of choice regarding educational programs within different levels of education. Paper will use scientific methods of systematization and analysis of existing literature regarding school vouchers, in order to give a critical review of the influence of vouchers on increasing the competitiveness of education. The paper will also present the results of the research of student and parental attitudes about towards voucherization of education. Research sample includes respondents from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Croatia and Republic of Serbia. Along with the conclusion, the paper also offers some recommendations regarding the use of vouchers for the improvement of local education systems.

It depicts a collective portrait of the members of the European Commission for the organization of Eastern Roumelia. The photo document is created outside a studio in a natural environment and could be defined as one of the early examples of reportage photography on socio-politicalaffairs that took place on the Bulgarian lands.

This study explores how the West defines the East in the works of Tzvetan Todorov and how the definition of the West itself shifts with the discovery of the New World in the XVI century. We will take as an example the impression of French travelers in Bulgaria in the XIX century in order to show that the image of the East gets often misunderstood by the West. With the discovery of America, the definition of what West means changes. These definitions are fluid and modifiable and are essential in order to understand how later historical interactions between East and West are carried out.

The article offers arguments for the compatibility of specific types of internalism and externalism in epistemology through a comparative analysis of the approaches based on their aims of investigation. Such compatibility is viewed as possible after the oppositional differences that are related to the elements of justification, are overcome. In this regard, the question about the agents of knowledge is answered, with reference to the thesis about the irreducibility of the internalist condition of reflexive access. Considerations of conceptual clarity and succession are raised with regard to the externalist condition that removes the epistemic arbitrariness in the founding of beliefs.

Modern advertisement not only transmits traditional stereotypes into society but also creates new gender ones, which define the gender aspect of the modern consumer’s life-vision. Cognitive units as gender stereotype or gender asymmetries play important roles in creating and reception of a commercial text because if they are used incorrectly, they might cause a gender conflict. A plan for analysis of a commercial text which helps to explicate its gender subcomponent is provided in the conclusion of the article along with typical exercises for students on advertisement analysis.

The translation is a multidimensional phenomenon. All the theories stress the diversity of its types and strategies. Aspects described as an unexplainable deviation within one theory can form the foundation for another. This may lead to the idea of replacing a theory of translation with its empiric version. However, a different approach is also possible. The outlines of the theory of translational and traductological relativity can be derived from the ideas firstly voiced by Schleiermacher in his lecture On the different methods of translation (1813) and Quineʼs theory of indeterminacy of translation.
