Doctorates Conferred in 1961 and 1962 (in Yugoslavia)

Between 1945 and 1962, 2,057 doctorates were conferred in Yugoslavia, an average of 114 yearly. Of these, 236 were awarded in 1960, 239 in 1961 and 242 in 1962. According to republics the figures are as follows: 905 in Serbia, 788 in Croatia, 217 in Slovenia, 85 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 62 in Macedonia. It is of interest that during the last three years the university of Novi Sad, and the independent faculties in Rijeka, Zadar and Tuzla have for the first time conferred doctorates. In the course of the last three years 8 foreign citizens — all from Afro-Asian countries—have received doctorates in Yugoslavia.

ŽIVJETI I OBRAZOVATI SE U DUHU VREMENA

It would be wrong to say that expression “education in the spirit of the time” is new. To the contrary, from the historical perspective, the importance of awareness of the times we live in has explicitly been referred to in certain revelations to Abraham, s.a.w.s. Besides, certain sayings of the Last Prophet, s.a.w.s., could be viewed as pointing to the same as well. Four thousands years ago it was revealed to Abraham, s.a.w.s.,: “It is a duty unto a wise to know the times he lives in”. It is not by chance that this wisdom was revealed to a prophet who, for a time, lived in the north of Iraq, in Babylon, a big city with advanced civilization. It is a one’s duty to know the culture and civilization in which one functions so that his work could produce the best of results. The Prophet’s, s.a.w.s., metaphor: “when you get hold of cows’ tails and when agriculture becomes your main preoccupation” could be understood as an instruction to be informed and alert to the conditions in the society. The Prophet is in fact telling us: “Having good crops and cattle should not become your main and only preoccupation, but you should look around and monitor what is going on”.

ALIMSKE PORODICE: MUZAFERIJE-SABRIHAFIZOVIĆIU

One of the most important families of scholars in Sarajevo and in the whole of Bosnia-Herzegovina is certainly the Muzaferija-Sabrihafizovic family. The first known local lecturer (Muderris) of the Gazi Husrev-beg School (Madrassah) in Sarajevo was Hajji Husein-efendi, son of Muzafer, the founder of the family, who taught for more than 40 years in this highest place of Bosniac learning in the Ottoman period. He was an astronomer and writer and he wrote an interesting Hronika (The Chronicle), preserved only in fragments by Mr. Muhamed Enver Kadic. He had a rich collection of oriental manuscripts, inherited and further enriched by his offspring, who later made it into a public endowment (Vakf). His son, Abdullah was broadly educated and a very capable man, an inventor of the mobile bridge used in efforts to defend Bosnia against numerous and repeated attacks by the Austro-Hungarians. Husein’s grandson, Ibrahim, was Sufi and a renowned astronomer.

ULOGA VAKUFA U FORMIRANJU ODGOJNO - OBRAZOVNIH INSTITUCIJA U BOSNI I HERCEGOVINI U TOKU XVI. STOLJEĆA

The author explains the idea of vakuf and the way vakuf developed in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Vakuf has a special role in founding and establishing the educational institutions in Bosnia-Herzegovina during the 16th century, the period which witnessed the biggest expansion of vakuf in this region. During that time, mosques, mekteb, madrassah, tekki, hanikah and libraries were the places where educational process took place, the places of learning. The facts presented in the article clearly show that vakuf produced all the educational institutions of Muslims in Bosnia-Herzegovina during the 16th century, so we can conclude that the role of vakuf in their establishment was essential.

ZABORAVLJENI ALIM

The author writes about Derviš ef. Spahić, a well-known Bosnian alem. Derviš Spahić was born in 1893 in Pojska, near Zenica. He lived in his hometown until he was 11 years old and for the next three decades remained connected to Travnik, his madrasa and ulama. He spent 10 years in madrasa. In 1914 he began his work as imam in the Kahvica mosque. He continues with his education before Asim ef. Korkut, together with his sons Derviš ef. i Siradž ef. All of them later became significant links to the religious life of Bosnia. They received their diplomas or ejazet in 1928, which were certified by the Reis at the time, Džemaludin Čaušević. This was the last generation of the ulama educated in traditional manner.

ŠKOLSTVO NA PODRUČJU VELIKE KLADUŠE POD AUSTROUGARSKOM VLAŠĆU

This text deals with the issue of the elementary schools that were being set up on the territory of Velika Kladuša under the AustroHungarian rule. The author describes the general environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina at that time. The Austro-Hungarian occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina meant for Bosniacs a transition from one civilization to the other - to a completely different culture and a way of life. All of this, naturally, could not have happened easily or even painlessly. In the eyes of the Muslims and in the reality, this new civilization was considerably Christian in spirit.

DARU-L-FUNUN

The founding of Daru-l-funun, the first University in the Ottoman state, was not exactly smooth or fast process. The role this University played was not limited to the Ottoman Empire since its influence was seen much farther like for example in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The lecturers at Daru-l-funun were some distinguished names. Some of those lecturers were from Bosnia and Herzegovina, such as Ali Fehmi Džabić. At the same time, many well-resc spected Bosnians have also attended this University. Some of them are Mehmed Džemaludin Čušević, Hidajet Kulenović and others. Daru-l-funun has shown to have the greatest influence in the field of education as well as in some other fields. Daru-l-funun is even today a topic of many researchers who still have a lot to say about it.

OBRAZOVANJE U PRIMITIVNIM I RANIM CIVILIZIRANIM KULTURAMA

Pod obrazovanjem se podrazumijeva prenosenje vrijednosti i akumuliranog znanja drustva. U tom smislu, ono je istovjetno sa socioloskim pojmovi socijalizacije ili akulturacije. Djeca-bilo da su začeta u plemenima Nove Gvineje, renesansnoj Firenci ili u srednjoj klasi Manhattana -rađaju se bez kulture. Svrha obrazovanja jest da im bude vodič u kulturi, da oblikuje njihovo ponašanje ka odrasloj dobi, i da ih usmjerava prema njihovoj vjerovatnoj ulozi u drustvu. U najprimitivnijim kulturama ima vrlo malo formalnog obrazovanja, malo onog sto ce se zvati skola, razred ili ucitelj; umjesto toga, najcesce, cijelo okruzenje i sve djelatnosti se promatraju kao skola ili razredi, i mnogi, odnosno svi odrasli djeluju kao učitelji. Medutim kako drustvo biva slozenije, kvantitet znanja koji prelazi sa jedne generacije na drugu je veći nego sto ga jedan covjek moze imati; stoga se moralo razviti selektivno i efikasno sredstvo prenosenja kulture. Ishodje formalno obrazovanje -skole i stručnjaci zvani učitelji.

NASLIJE PROŠLOSTI I IZAZOVI BUDUĆNOSTI

Dvadeseti vijek bio je veoma važan period u historiji islamskog obrazovanja. Naslijeđeni postklasični koncepti su bili preispitani, institucije reformisane, napori da se obnovi islamska epistemologija su preduzeti a nove akademske institucije ustanovljene. Izučavanje islama izaπlo je iz okvira tradicionalnih islamskih škola, uπlo u okvire modernih univerziteta Istoka i Zapada i potvrđeno kao ustanovljena akademska disciplina. Kao rezultat svih ovih procesa, početak 21. vijeka zatekao je u oblasti metodologije prezentiranja i izučavanja islama ostatke prošlosti, utjecaje modernosti i pokazatelje budućnosti.

MUSLIMANSKO ŠKOLSTVO NA DANAŠNJEM PODRUČJU OPĆINE KONJIC U VRIJEME OSMANSKE I AUSTROUGARSKE VLADAVINE

U trenutku osmanskog zaposjedanja (izmeðu 1465. i 1466. godine), naselja koja su danas u sastavu općine Konjic bila su rasporeðena u sljedeće četiri župe: bosanska Neretva sa sjedištem u trgu Konjice, hercegovačka Neretva sa sjedištem u trgu Biograd, Kom sa sjedištem u trgu Ridkom i Zagor ili Zagorje sa sjedištem u selu Kalinovik. Osmanlije su župe u istom teritorijalnom opsegu zadržali i preimenovali ih u nahije, a trgove u bazare. Jedino su trgu Biograd izmijenili naziv u Belgrad.

SCHOOLING OF PHYSICAL TRAINING TEACHERS (IN YUGOSLAVIA FROM 1957-1962)

Yugoslav physical training teachers are trained in secondary physical training schools, departments for physical training at teachers’ training colleges and academies, and in senior colleges for physical culture. In the school year 1962/63, there were altogether 24 such schools (as compared with 14 in 1957/58) with a total of 2,587 pupils and students (as against 1,355 in 1957/58). In the period 1957—1962 alone, 2,035 new physical training teachers graduated from these schools.

ENROLLMENT IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS (IN YUGOSLAVIA)

The number of pupils enrolling in secondary schools after completion of elementary education grows from year to year. (Table I). The increase was particularly great in the school year 1967/68 when 11,000 more pupils enrolled in secondary schools than in the preceding school year. This increase has been accompanied by a steady decrease, both in absolute and relative terms, of the number of pupils who, after completion of elementary education do not enroll in a secondary school. The proportion of this kind of pupil amounted in the school year 1963 /64 to 22 per cent, as compared with 19.9 per cent in 1967 /68. The number of such pupils is, however, still considerable, although some of them continue their studies a few years later. Other pupils who have completed elementary education, i. e. those who do not continue to study, either take jobs as unskilled workers or remain on the land.

CHANGES IN THE SYSTEM OF EDUCATION (IN YUGOSLAVIA)

Three periods can be distinguished in the development of the system of education since the war: 1945—1958, 1958—1963, and 1963 and thereafter. PERIOD 1945—1958. In these years numerous and varied changes were made in the system of education inherited from before the war, in order to bring it into line with the new socio-economic relations in the country. The most important alterations made in that period were: compulsory elementary schooling was extended first from four to seven and then (in 1952) to eight years; a considerable number of lower-grade, secondary and advanced vocational schools, colleges and university faculties were opened, and new subjects and a new approach were also introduced in the curricula and instructional programs of all schools; it was made possible, under specific conditions, for those completing secondary vocational schools to enroll at the university.

Театарската едукација во Република Македонија - Историски референци, искуства и влијанија

The paper is based on presentation of theater education in Republic of Macedonia. Initial analysis, of what and how it is important for primary theatre knowledge, was made, by defining the basic elements of theater education. The paper referred to historical references of the dominant theater educations. It was made an overview of the institutions that have dealt and are dealing with theater education in Macedonia. Also was presented my personal experiences of working at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts - Skopje. Analyses are actually theoretical and historical explication of theater education in Macedonia and the way of functioning. There is special emphasis on the need for historical and theoretical subjects, in the studying of the practical skills of theater.

International Participation in Quality Assurance within the European Higher Education Area

At the Berlin Ministerial Meeting in September 2003, ministers with responsibility for higher education tasked the Bologna Follow-up Group to undertake a stocktaking exercise on the progress made in three priority action lines – quality assurance, the two-cycle degree system and recognition of degrees and periods of study. The international participation and networking in quality assurance within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) was established as one of the aspects that needs to be monitored. The group presented detailed reports at conferences held in Bergen (May 2005), London (May 2007), Leuven (April 2009), Bucharest (April 2012) and Yerevan (May 2015). The purpose of this paper is to present the comparative results of the five stocktaking exercises regarding the international participation within EHEA and to provide information about how the Romanian higher education system has faced this challenge.

Razvoj kultumo-umjetničkog amaterizma u Miričini

Kulturno-prosvjetna zajauštenost, nepismenost, ekonomska bijeda i zaostalost - glavna su obilježja muslimansko- bošnjačkog sela u periodu između dva svjetska rata. Mladi su se okupljali i zabavljali za vrijeme bajramskih i drugih narodnih svečanosti, na svadbama i veseljima, uz pjesmu i igru, tradicionalne narodne sportove - bacanje kamane s ramena, “penjanje uz oguljenu stožinu”, ponegdje uz konjske i pješačke trke. U dugim zimskim noćima stariji bi se okupljali po kućama i u neko doba nakon igre “prstena” ili “mice”, uz “gasnjaču” ili svijeću, gotovo krišom (da ih ne čuju “nepoželjne uši”) slušali omiljene junačke narodne pjesme o muslimanskim junacima - Mustajbegu Ličkom, Gojenom Halilu i Milji Hrnjici - koje je iščitavao najpismeniji u mahali iz neke stare požutjele pjesmarice što se uz Mushaf čuvala...
