Starting from the importance of the international, interdisciplinary and interfaith symposium, held in June 2018 in Saronic Islands, Greece, on the challenges of the ecological crisis, especially in the Athenian region, I want to briefly emphasize in this paper the Patriarch’s Bartholomew I view about the ecological crisis. In his opinion, the ecological crisis is a result of our sinful attitude towards the creation of God, which led to an irrational and egoistic exploitation of natural resources. Theologically speaking, the human being was supposed to be the priest of creation but now he turned into a tyrant who devorates and destroys the world. The response proposed by the Green Patriarch in order to stop the ecological crisis consists in the rediscovery of an ascetic and Eucharistic ethos towards the God’s creation.

An analysis of the university theological curriculum and the curriculum of religion as subject in secondary education highlights a wide range of approaches to the issue of family from early childhood to adulthood. By looking into the failure of young families where either one or both partners took religion classes in school, or even graduated from a theological school, we aim to identify its reasons and to propose viable educational solutions adapted to the new social realities. From our point of view, the starting point in such a process is to explore various proposals concerning the initial formation of future priests and religion teachers, which would contribute to the updating of the university curriculum in two ways: not only with developments in the educational area of the theological and lay (i.e. religion as school-taught subject) secondary education, but also in the liturgical area.

The Holy Three Hierarchs, Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian and John Chrysostom, whose homage we celebrate on January 30, are more teachers and stars among the stars of our Church, which dominates the entire history and Christian thought of the fourth century and until today. For their many teachings, for their untiring zeal in promoting and defending the true faith against the heresies of the time in which they lived, for their exemplary life lived in the world and for the salvation of the world, through the righteous Church, they were worthy of great and chosen honor. contemporary Christians with them and those after them, their spiritual prestige amplifying even more after their departure from this world. The veneration of these saints of the universal Church has remained unchanged in the Church to this day, as the only bearers of the nickname “Great teachers of the world and hierarchs” received at the time when the Byzantine faithful ruled in Constantinople.

The moment is our gift. Life is made up of a lot of time packs, full of eternity moments. Every moment should be received, lived, filled with sense and meaning, and lit by prayer. The Hesychast Orthodox Prayer fills to the fullest extent, warms, ignites and flames the golden Cup gem of every moment in our earthly and Christian life. Each moment has its infinite value, that is why a man, a Christian, a clergyman or a monk is bound to connect, bind and hang every moment of his life by faith, hope and love, humility, repentance and weeping, of God’s eternity, for eventually God’s eternity will call to judgment and judge the moments of our life, separating them as the shepherd breaks up the lambs from the goats.

We present reasons and suggest the possibilities of using modern Serbian language in everyday worship, especially when it comes to chanting. The work is directed towards a clearer understanding of the Word of God in worship, overcoming the role of a passive layman in worship and reducing the separation between the Church (spiritual) and everyday (worldly), sacred and profane in our society. In this direction, examples of Parastos in contemporary Serbian language are suggested.

In his exegesis, St. John Chrysostom synthesised the elements of Alexandrian and Antiochian schools of interpretiation and avoided the exclusivities of his Antiochian teachers and predecessors. In his own theology, triadology is the scope of apophatic theology, and economy – of cataphatic i.e. pedagogical theology. In his Christology, St. John Chrysostom continues with the Christology of Cappadocian Fathers. He expresses the triadology and triadological terminology of Cappadocian theology using the terms of pedagogical discourses, in the pedagogical key. He refers to the fundamental significance of Incarnation for Christian pedagogy, in all of her aspects and dimensions. The Incarnation of Logos is the foundation, the heart and the fulfillment of God’s pedagogy of salvation.

On 20th July 2020 Congregation for the Clergy issued an instruction The pastoral conversion of the Parish community in the service of the evangelising mission of the Church. This document brings together the previous teachings of the Magisterium regarding the Parish community, approaching them from the perspective of the Pope Francis’s teaching calling for pastoral conversion of the whole Church, which should result in the missionary attitude of bringing the message of Gospel to all the people. Issuing of the instruction evoked different responses. Some of them were positive, praising the presenting of the integrated knowledge regarding the legal basis of the Parrish community functioning, as well as speaking highly of this document in the context of mapping out a wide range of the contemporary circumstances in which the parishes function. Also, providing the inspiration for the renewal of the Parish Ministry was appreciated. However, some criticisms were also raised, regarding the lack of new solutions aiming at involving the lay faithful in the life of the Parish community, putting too little emphasis on the necessity of the personal parishes development and the offer of the detailed pastoral methods. The author describes the main ideas included in this document, which has not reached a wider readership in Poland. At the same time, he (1), presents the discussion that the issuing of the instruction has evoked (2), referring to the document itself and suggesting some inspiration for creative searching for the ways of reaching the renewal of the Parish community in the context of the Pastoral conversion (3).

Representatives of contemporary Christian apologia evaluate enlightenment in different ways. Three basic trends developed among them. One of them, the trend of negation, rejects the age of reason as such, emphasizing, above all, the disastrous consequences of the ideologies that derive from it. Another trend of acceptance emphasizes the Enlightenment sources of the idea of human rights and the democratic system. Finally, the trend of balance combines both approaches, developing a reflection on the errors of the age of reason, yet not avoiding the need for dialogue. The aim of the work is to present these three concepts, indicating the last one as adopted by the new apologia whose renaissance we are currently observing.

Dr. Fran Barac who left a notable trace to church life, scientific and pedagogy (Faculty of Theology, HBA, Boy’s Seminary etc.) as well as in the political life of the Croatian people. Above all, Christianity, preaching love of God and of neighbor, as commandment and foundation of the Christian life, proposes the strongest binder of human solidarity. Through Christian love, from which no person is excluded, not even the enemy, philanthropy extends to all and penetrates deep into the human being. It is expressed through a loving service to all.The Orthodox Church teaches that salvation is not accomplished alone, but only with others, within the Church, with the help of others and by helping others. People in need, people with disabilities, must be supported, accepted and encouraged to recognize their own values, to trust God, to be close to the Christian community, to rely with all confidence on the word of God, to trust in His boundless love for people, to confess before Him to gain freedom. These people suffer deeply until they accept their situation, they scrutinize themselves thoroughly and are often overwhelmed with despair. Faith and prayer are the means by which these people come to peace of mind.Impaired believers need to feel the solidarity and brotherhood among parishioners in Christian communities, respectively among all members of the Church, and then the Church will be able to easily and successfully fulfill its mission of supporting those lacking the support of our society.

In this article, we will discuss the aspects of morality that the Apostle Paul discusses with his disciple Timothy in his second epistle. Here we have analyzed the character traits that the contemporary Christian must pay attention to. In 2 Timothy 3:1-5, Paul has an important pastoral discussion about the future of the religious life and draws many signals about how people will be in the afterlife. We grouped these nineteen signals into 5 main categories, and they represent the analysis of the present study. Knowing the aspect that this epistle is a pastoral epistle and knowing that the principles of public life influence the religious ethos of the Christian, here we will present some features to which contemporary Christians must be careful.

The following article is a presentation of two principles on which society operates and how they balance. The roots of these principles are found in the Judeo-Christian theology and have established fundamental relations between God and man, springing from His character and attributes. Therefore, for this reason, the first approach will be a theological one, followed by a sociological one with implications in macro-society and micro-society. The founding concept provides a balance for these principles that have determined the functioning in normal parameters, or not, of every society, of any type and any time.

The main source and basis of the pontifical liturgies is the Pontifical (Pontificale Romanum) and the Ceremonial of Bishops (Caeremoniale Episcoporum). While the former is a fully-fledged liturgical book, the latter is a book describing only the ceremonies (for the liturgy of the whole liturgical year) and the elements of the etiquette observed at former bishops’ courts, cathedrals and collegiates, describing in a way their daily life (from the election of the bishop, through the celebrations of the church year, to the detailed functions of ministers). The Ceremonial of Bishops, published for the first time in 1600 (by order of the Fathers of the Council of Trent), is in fact, as researchers and experts in liturgy point out, a Papal Ceremonial (Caeremoniale Romanum or Caeremoniale Apostolicum) adapted to the realities of the cathedral. This ceremony was the work of the so-called great masters of papal ceremonies (Agostino Piccolomini, Joannes Burchard, Paride Grassi). It turns out that the Roman liturgy (especially in its pontifical form, but also in its parish dimension), at least in its form until the beginning of the second half of the 20th century, was codified in the papal ceremonial, spreading throughout the Catholic world.

The article analyses the impact of the coronavirus pandemic in Estoniaon pastoral counseling offered by the clergy of the Estonian Council of Churches. Seventy-two respondents from different denominations answered the questionnaire. Despite state restrictions, pastoral counseling has continued and even intensified, being initiated by clergy and requested by the people in need. Traditional face-to-face meetings were replaced predominantly by telephone or electronic communication. Many other forms of work done in churches were moved online. The most common topics of pastoral counseling were related to the practical issues of daily life rather than to spiritual needs or existential questions. This result may be due to Estonia’s post-Christian milieu

Mission renovation is a typical element of the Redemptorist mission system. St. Alfons Liguori inserted it to the mission program and ordered the obligation to carry it out. It was intended to consolidate the fruit of the carried out missions. The classic renovation of the Redemptorist mission should meet certain requirements that determine its meaning. Mission renovation should be related to missions in three dimensions: personal, kerygmatic and temporal. In personal dimension, it concerns the pastor who organized holy missions and invites again to be given by the same missionaries or at least one of them. In the kerygmatic dimension, renovation should not duplicate missionary sermons, but is to be a continuation of them. However, in the time dimension it should take place at a time when the memory of the saints’ missions is still alive (about half a year to a year after the missions).
