This paper will present the previously unknown collection of manuscripts in Arabic, Turkish and Persian, held at the Petrićevac Franciscan monastery in Banja Luka. It is a collection of ten manuscripts, of which two are copies of the Qur’an, and the rest are various writings, such as Qur’anic and hadith studies, laws, commentaries and literature. Although the collection itself is small, the manuscripts it contains are of superb value for the study of cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The authors present an edited fragment of a log written by Antoni Waga (1799–1890) during his journey from Paris to Warsaw in 1868. The excerpt is an account of the scholar’s stay in Prague and Karlovy Vary. Written with consummate literary skill, the log of the naturalist and the first Polish en-tomologist and botanist takes us straight into described places. Owing to Antoni Waga’s sense of observation and erudition, the log presents a broad spectrum of issues in a variety of fields. The scholar discusses nature, history, literature and the arts. The log contains descriptions of architectural monuments, museum collections, local plant and animal species. As a result, we have gained a promiscuous source of knowledge. The source text has been prepared in accordance with the principles contained in the instructions for publishing historical sources of the nineteenth and early twentiethcentury, compiled by Ireneusz Ihnatowicz.

The repository of Theatre Documentation of the Institute of Art, Polish Academy of Sciences, holds a substantial (more than 20,000 items) collection of old theatrical posters dating from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It also contains a small, and for that reason all the more precious, number of theatre posters from the Eastern Borderland of Poland, preserved and donated by private collectors. For the purposes of this publication, a set of posters dating from the 19th and the first half of the 20th centuries that come from Grodno, Kamieniec Podolski, Kaunas, Lvov, Minsk, Vilnius, and Żytomierz has been chosen. They come from the post-partition Polish territories ruled by Russia as well as by the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and in the case of Lvov, from the territory of independent Poland.

The articles republished now in Pamiętnik Teatralny first appeared in the Lvov Słowo Polskie in 1930–1931. They are reprinted here with an introduction discussing the historical context in which they were written. The texts belong to the early period of work of the outstanding theatre scholar, and they at the same time shed light on a short yet important episode in the history of the Lvov stage that had to do with Leon Schiller. Even though the articles had been inspired by the editor-in-chief of Słowo Polskie, Wacław Mejbaum, they also revealed Terlecki’s own convictions and expressed his involvement in the so-called “battle for Schiller” [batalia o Schillera]. The issue was first to allow Stanisław Czapelski and Zygmunt Zaleski to take over the management of the municipal theatres, as they offered the position of artistic director of the Drama Department to Leon Schiller, and then to provide Schiller with the wherewithal to carry out his creative work, which meant mostly to make some organisational changes within the theatres. And finally, when Schiller had resigned and left Lvov, Terlecki carried on the battle so that the Municipal Council accept Wilam Horzyca as manager, which it did, thus enabling Schiller to come back. The articles reveal the polemical temperament of Tymon Terlecki, his early fascination with the work of Leon Schiller and the way in which their author contributed to the development of the stage in Lvov.

W 2010 r. mija 40. rocznica śmierci Henryka Wendta, proboszcza parafii ewangelicko-augsburskiej w Wieluniu. XIX w., by prowadzić działalność misyjną wśród Żydów, ojciec Fryderyk był pastorem w Łomży, Rawie i Nowosolnej.
