The objective of this article is an implementation of fauna environmental protection at one of the Ukrainian military training areas using the recommendations of NATO documents. The impact of military activities on the territory of training area was evaluated by their influence on the two indicator species – listed in the RedData Book of Ukraine – Lesser Spotted Eagle and White-tailed (sea)Eagle, included, in addition, to the European Red List too. The effect of heavy metals (lead, nickel, copper, zinc) that are accumulating in the soil of the training area on the ability to increase mass birds was investigated. It was found that the hazard index is significantly less than 1, which indicates satisfactory environmental conditions for the fauna of the territory.

It has been 20 years since the first volume of “Biuletyn Szadkowski” was published. The article provides a synthetic history and description of this periodical: the initiative to launch an interdisciplinary journal devoted to Szadek region, composition of the editorial staff and board of editors, authors of the contributions and a bibliographic analysis of the articles including their classification into main thematic groups. Broadly understood historical studies are the most numerous thematic group. There also are many biographical works presenting the lives and activities of people connected with Szadek, and articles addressing spatial development topics. Other contributions published in ‘Biuletyn’ are devoted to the natural environment and cultural heritage of this region, and local/regional socio-economic structures.

The main purpose of the article is to consider the merits of including transcendent concern in the set of ultimate concerns in human life, as they are understood by Margaret S. Archer. First, it is discussed the understanding of this concern presented in Archer’s works, and then characterized the broader understanding proposed by its author. Its significance regarding human and social life is presented briefly by showing its influence on human agency. Finally, the relationships between concerns are discussed, with particular emphasis on the place of transcendent concern. The conclusions drawn lead to a final acknowledgment of the place of this concern amongst other fundamental human concerns of a universal nature.

The aim of the article is to present the key features (elements) of the concept of trust in modern and post-modern society. Based on a review of selected literature on the subject from 1967-2018, models and definitions of trust were analyzed and an attempt was made to classify this concept. The study shows that social and civilization changes affect the way trust is defined.

Work as a human activity is one of the fundamental factors shaping the stability of society and an individual life. Unemployment as a phenomenon closely related to work is an element of destabilization and risk. Firstly, this article presents a theoretical analysis of both phenomena, and then indicates its specific fluctuations in a specific area of the country. This analysis is based on data provided by the Poviat Labor Office in Gorzów Wielkopolski.
