The archival records of the Republic of Serbian Krajina are kept in the Croatian Memorial and Documentation Centre of the Homeland War and in the several regional state archives in the Republic of Croatia – the State Archives in Zadar, the Collection Office of the Zadar State Archives in Šibenik, in the State Archives in Slavonski Brod and its department in Požega and in the Collection Office of the Sisak State Archives in Petrinja. In the first part of the paper I will concentrate on the presentation and the description of the records that are kept in the Croatian Memorial and Documentation Centre of the Homeland War and in the second part I will offer short review of the records kept in the regional state archives.

ZAŠTITA I PREZENTACIJA ZBIRKE DOKUMENATA –VOJNIČKA PISMA IZ PRVOG SVETSKOG RATA (1914.-1918.)

Documents from public and private provenance, created during wars can disapear very easy as a result of war operations, the change of government, occupation etc. During war and especially after war each country takes measures to preserve and protect the archival material. During the First and the Second World War letters were the only communication between the soldiers and their families and they contain information about their personal and family life. Those letters have had different destiny. The soldiers weren’t able to easily keep the letters they got. The censor’s millitary commissions which reviewed those letters didn’t let some of them to get to the adressees. Those letters were either kept at the commissions and commands or were simply destroyed. The families of the soldiers especially those from villages didn’t keep the letters long because they reminded them of the hard days of the war.As a historian - archivist, I have had the opportunity to participate in the team which worked on a project related to the processing and protection of the letters of the soldiers from the First Wold War. That collection of documents happened to get to Macedonia at FOSIM (Foundation Open Society Institute Macedonia). The Project was realised as a part of the programme of this Organisation. The collection was named Revealed Testimonies and today it can be found in the Museum of Kratovo, Macedonia. The letters were presented thrugh an exibition which was put on in sevral towns in Macedonia. These letters were published in a book - a collection „Revealed Testemonies - letters from soldiers from the Great War (1914.-1918.)“ in 2009.

POTREBA NOVELIRANJA NAUČNO-INFORMATIVNIH SREDSTAVA ZA ARHIVSKU GRAĐU

All material, grouped by it's own characteristics, in a specific order in Archieve, is a matter of manipulation. The aim of manipulation is to enable an information about variety and characteristics of materijal's content. The manipulation of material in archives should come to making some new informational resources, which will enable the full usage of archieve material in practic and specific usage. It's necessary to approach this theme according to a plan. It needs to be an object of descusion in the highes expert circules. With specialized and responsable work, it will come to valid archieve's standards for production of any kind informational resources. Further democratisation of culture and scientific needs, makes us responsable to collect archieve material, to keep and use correctly. The successful work and the development of Archieve is condicioned with the solution of located and work space, and the greatter number of specialized employers on a job like arranging and manipulating with material.

Cotarea cărților pentru accesul liber la raft la Biblioteca Universității „Politehnica” din Timișoara

Biblioteca Universității Politehnica din Timișoara a stabilit un sistem de cotare propriu pentru așezarea cărților în sălile cu acces liber la raft. Principiul de așezare ales, prezentat în lucrare, a ținut cont în mare proporție de clasificarea internațională UNESCO pentru domeniile științei și tehnologiei, pentru care biblioteca a definit cote de domeniu și subdomeniu specifice fondului de documente existente în bibliotecă. Considerăm sistemul de cotare al cărților ca fiind unul accesibil și foarte flexibil, el oferind posibilitatea completării unui domeniu și subdomeniu în funcție de diversitatea conținutului cărții achiziționate.

O nouă provocare pentru biblioteci

Element relativ nou în peisajul electronic, în care am început să ne mișcăm din ce în ce mai dezinvolt, cartea electronică rămâne, totuși, necunoscută nu doar publicului, ci și, mai ales, acelora care, prin natura profesiei lor, sunt mai aproape de carte. Astfel, nu este de mirare că bibliotecarii doresc să cunoască mai îndeaproape un produs care, după cum se afirmă, va constitui aproape în exclusivitate obiectul muncii lor viitoare. Expunerea de față își propune să încadreze în doar câteva coordonate lămuritoare profilul acestui tip de ”obiect electronic”, a cărui esență rămâne, firesc, textul- devenit e-text prin purtătorul său, prin dispozitivele de citire și prin posibilitățile de exploatare. Această metamorfozare a prezentării informației antrenează o serie de schimbării la nivelul instituțiilor de mediere și comercializare: bibliotecile și librăriile. Pentru a opera în același mediu, acestea se află într-un proces de ”virtualizare”, devenind ”e-biblioteci” și- respectiv - ”e-librării”. În continuarea articolului este redată o descriere succintă, dar detaliată, a proceselor de achiziționare, catalogare și împrumut a cărții electronice, preluând date din experiența unei biblioteci americane și sunt prezentate perspectivele cărții de tip electronic în general și în raport cu biblioteca.

Zpřístupnění fondu Josefa Václava Sládka v LA PNP: jak digitalizovat

The two complementary articles are focused on the personal papers of the classical author of Czech poetry, J. V. Sládek (1845–1912), deposited in the Literature Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature, and are concerned with their digitalization. The first article deals with the gradual formation of the fond as a whole. It draws attention to the as yet unemployed potential of individual sources. Digitalization may serve to boost this potential for further studies in literary science and cultural history, in academic studies and in other publishing projects concerning Sládek’s literary and photographic work. In relation to the digitalization of the fond, attention is also paid to, for example, the genesis of Sládek’s translations of Shakespeare’s dramas (the manuscript being pasted over on a number of places); the gap concerning the as yet not published complete Sládek’s poems for children; the biographical and culturally historical information presented in the extensive family correspondence spanning from the years Sládek spent in America (1868–1870) up to the year of his death. We are also reminded of the testimonial value, both artistic and technical, of Sládek’s almost unknown photographic work, of his own glass and celluloid negatives as well as of professionally taken portraits preserved in family albums.The second paper emphasizes the technical problems connected with digitalization (scanning and photographing) of specific archive materials and of objects that are categorized in individual archives according to methodological rules. The paper also creates special methodological rules for the transferring of various materials to the digital format.

In the archive and the science institutions the micro film is used in different purposes. Numerous problems, with which such institutions' are confronted, can be solved by applying various forms of microfilming. Replacing an original by a microfilm, large saving in space can be- achieved. Besides, using a microfilm photography instead of an original, documents are protected from being damaged. The microfilm used for security, supplementation and in scientific purposes protects the originals from the accidents due to natural forces, provides the supplementation in the existing funds and collections, and, finaily, it supplies a scientific research work with the necessary documentation. To enable the microfilm, as a special kind of protection of the archive materia?, to replace the original completely, it is necessary to perform careful preparations of the material designated for microfilming.

De la arhivele de folclor la corpusurile de texte

The present study brings forward text corpora created by extracting documents from the Folklore Archives of the Romanian Academy. The vast amount of documents, as well as the intellectual effort required to accomplish the printed databases illustrate a distinct scientific project. On the one hand, these text corpora continue the archiving project as it has been defined during the inter-war period, while on the other hand they offer new perspectives on the archived documents and on the whole archiving project. Through this study, we propose a classification of the text corpora published so far. We identified three steps in the completion of text corpora and we showed that each of them responds to certain scientific targets that are defining to the history of the subject, at different moments of its history. At the same time, we illustrated new possibilities to valorize the documents that are archived and comprised in the folklore text corpora.

Personnalité marquante de la vie culturelle de Sibiu pendant la deuxième moitié du 20e siècle, Gheorghe Soima est l’auteur de quelques œuvres d’une vraie originalité d’expression et de style dans la vaste littérature musicale roumaine. Il a composé de la musique vocal-symphonique et symphonique, musique de chambre et chorale qui expriment une forte exigence de soi, en travaillant minutieusement à la réalisation de chaque page musicale en partie, mais en réussissant d’une manière surprenante à garder son esprit naturel et la logique de la construction dans ses œuvres. Sans se vouloir une analyse de la vie et de l’activité du compositeur, l’étude ci-présente esquisse quelques traits de la personnalité de Gheorghe Soima dans la perspective de cinq de ses lettres envoyées à son ami, Constantin Catrina, compositeur, chef d'orchestre et professeur à Brasov. Ecrites entre 1964-1966, on peut en détacher des informations très riches et d’une très grande importance sur la vie du musicien Gheorghe Soima, en nous découvrant une personnalité menant une vie intense sur des plans très variés et inégaux, mais un même temps un spectateur fortement passionné de tout ce qui se passe autour de lui.

Problemi inventarizacije u muzejima

Godine 1973. Republički sekretarijat za prosvjetu i kulturu po treći je put pokušao utjecati na muzejske ustanove da što hitnije riješe problem zaostataka u inventarizaciji - jednom od glavnih muzejskih zadataka. Isti pokušaji bili su 1967. i 1972. godine, ali na žalost nijedan od njih nije dao pozitivnih rezultata. Dapače, statistički podaci pokazuju u vremenu od 1968. do 1971. stanovito pogoršanje, jer se osjetno povećao broj neinventariziranih predmeta. Pretpostavka je da je to posljedica povećanja opsega nabave novih predmeta, ali ni to ni druge pretpostavke ne mogu biti opravdanje.

The article presents the nearly seventy years (1949-2016) of cataloguing on collection of medieval manuscripts of the University Library in Toruń from so-called the protected collection (mainly from the former Public and University Library in Królewiec). It discusses principles implemented in 2005 for the purpose of describing the Toruń manuscripts, based on Catalogue Description Principles of Medieval Manuscripts of the Jagiellonian Library, and shows their practical application in descriptions of manuscripts prepared for the needs of Medieval Manuscripts Catalogue of the University Library in Toruń (The Nicolaus Copernicus University Press, 2016).
