The system of generally speaking “standard” and additional or “alternative” education (training), and the form of self-training characteristic of the armed forces, form a complex result necessary for building, maintaining and developing over time the capabilities of the troops and forces with a direct impact on national security. The concept of national security is extremely broad, which is why the current development emphasizes on the specific role of training and especially on the self-training of the personnel. Deduced is the dependence between the level of education and the results in the quality of activity of the systems, and hence the overall level of preparation.

Global business and other activities of Chinese enterprises and stakeholders have been increasing in number, variety and significance – against the backdrop of the crucial importance and attractiveness of the Chinese market for MNCs and new actors from BRI countries, and overall ever more interconnected and complex global environment (further complicated by the pandemic and various other developments in the past years) and also influenced by landmark initiatives such as 17+1 (which constantly evolved) and the Belt and Road – of high importance to China but somewhat of a mystery to non-Chinese stakeholders. Communicating internationally in English in ways that achieve intended objectives is crucial but often affected by the widespread use of cliches and expressions that are not optimized to “speak” to the intended audience. Beyond examples from my practice, Chinese publications in English and foreign publications about Chinese business activity and the Belt and Road Initiative and identifying key differences between them, the negative outcomes they lead to, pointing out some communication and culture gaps and propose some solutions, I also look at straightforward primary examples – the Personal Statements prepared by over 200 ECUPL seniors. The report examines the specifics of modern inflation in the context of the paradigm shift for economic growth. The characteristics of modern inflation after the pandemic crisis and its factor conditioning in the conditions of revival of economic activity, increased aggregate demand and increase in international commodity market prices in connection with market segmentation and difficulties in global value chains are formulated. The analysis reveals the essence and characteristics of modern inflation as a multifactorial phenomenon that determines the choice of policies and the difficulties in achieving synergy between them. The typology of the types of inflation is substantiated, and their specifics are considered sequentially. There is a focus on green inflation and wage gap inflation, the rise of which is debated as to the effect on inflation. Conclusions are systematized about the relationship between modern inflation and economic security as a factor determining the sustainability of inflation, and problems and perspectives in the European context are outlined.

The growing trend of an aging population in Europe highlights the challenges, innovations and new policies needed to improve the lives of older people. The development and use of the available labour potential of all people of working age is an important task to address demographic challenges. We need to prepare and adapt to reality by accepting people over 60+, and sometimes over 50+, as a resource important to society, not a burden. In the conditions of the modern changes two tendencies in relation to the aging population stand out: the opportunity to be useful both for themselves and for society in the new realities, taking into account their activity and "common sense"; the development of the "silver economy", which includes all economic activities related to production, health, social, educational and other services designed to meet the needs and improve the quality of life of older people. The impact of population aging is presented in this report; the concept of the "silver economy" is considered, including a wide range of activities that meet the needs of older people as consumers and presents good innovative practices developed and implemented in some EU member states.

The main challenges in the routine work of internal auditors, directly related to the application of the internal audit methodology in the public sector, are briefly summarized. The need for the development and application of a specific methodology for internal audit is substantiated, while a sample procedure for performing an audit engagement of public enterprises in which the head of a public sector organization exercises the rights of the state over shares or stocks is presented.

The report outlines: the current situation in the Red Sea and the Somali Basin, examining its impact on international maritime transport. Discussed are key principles of international law and organizations involved in combating piracy and armed robbery, detailing incidents occurring from 2019 to 2023. The mission and tasks of Operation “Atalanta”, which is one of the primary anti-piracy operations in the Somali Basin, are described along with the current situation in the Area of Operation (AOO). The report briefly narrates the situation with M/V Ruen. It outlines conditions under which the use of Bulgarian Naval Forces in countering piracy is feasible. The paper proposes some directions for addressing piracy and armed robbery issues.

Every political-military competition, conflict or war after 2014, already is hybrid. “Hybrid threat” is an umbrella term for the coordinated actions of a coalition of military and nonmilitary, state and nonstate, national and supranational actors in the info-cognitive, diplomatic-political, financial-economic and military spheres, in peace, during the crisis and in war, against the interests of a national state (or a coalition of states). Thestate-backed hybrid threat applies the concept of “smart power” in a destructive manner. “The opposing forces”, through public cognitive manipulations, can achieve a national state deception, can blame another actor/s as a hybrid threat and destabilization source, and to excuse their own actions. The counteraction of a Hybrid threat by disunited societies, societies that difficulty formulate common goals and are not unanimous at threat recognition, is extremely difficult and/or impossible.

It examines NATO’s position on the conflict in Ukraine and the possibility of comprehensive assistance to the country, NATO’s response to the threat, position of Bulgaria. The main aim of this paper is to analyze some key indicators determining the degree of tourism sustainability. It studies tourism sustainability indicators in Bulgaria compared with its neighbouring countries and uses an established methodological apparatus for studying tourism sustainability, developed by the World Economic Forum. The research places emphasis on an analysis of the balance in the triple bottom line of economic-environmental-social goals determining sustainability. The research methodology includes theoretical-methodological analysis, comparative analysis, empirical analysis, systemic approach. Based on the analysis carried out, the strengths of the offered tourist product in Bulgaria are highlighted, as well as the weaknesses regarding sustainability, which need improvement measures.

The subject of this paper is the rights of the performing artists for their names, pseudonyms and other distinctive signs of the artist such as autograph, face, name of the work, etc. A study of applied for and registered trademarks of ten world-famous performers (singers) was carried out to ascertain the presence or absence of intellectual property rights. The number of trademarks at the national, European and international level has been identified, and the goods and services in which the trademarks are registered have been extracted. The role of trademarks as a business identifier that provides their holders with identification and differentiation from other artists in the market is indicated. Conclusions and recommendations are formulated on the basis of the implemented research.

The subject matter of this paper are patented inventions owned by world-famous personalities. The nature of inventions and ways of protecting innovative products in the music and film business as inventions are outlined. Patent protection of inventions under national patent laws is identified, as well as exceptions to protection. It analyses the role of inventions as a fundamental object of industrial property, which provides its owner with a monopoly advantage and provides him with various opportunities for realization and profit. Examples are given of inventions created by world-famous personalities such as musicians, producers, and actors.

This study analyses the role of the Internet for performers by presenting the main economic benefits and losses. The Internet is seen as an environment where economic fulfilment can be achieved through the exercise of performers' property rights, as well as an environment where performers are likely to suffer economic loss as a result of the infringement of their rights. It analyses the exercise of performers' property rights on the Internet. Based on a survey, conclusions are drawn on their level of awareness of the management of their related rights on the Internet. Case law in the field is presented and suggestions are made for improving the shortcomings highlighted.
