Summary/Abstract: This article will present the importance of leisure time in shaping the interests and development of children at early school age. Rest and recreation are necessary to regenerate after work or study. Leisure time is also a time during which the child expands its horizons and interests. It is also a very important time for the development of the child’s social skills and mental, physical and emotional development. How a child spends this time is largely dependent on his/her family situation and patterns at home.
