Why put "European Studies" in the Cirriculum

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the perspectives, the pre-methodological premises, the academic institutional conditions, the challenges and prospects of including European Studies programs in school curricula, something new in the schools of Central and Eastern Europe. The author's arguments in favor of this refer to the integrity of sociocultural preconditions of the current formation of the European Union, which necessitates an interdisciplinary approach in teaching European Studies, and to the achievements and problems of the EU. The article supports the thesis that European Studies education is an important means of social mobilization and self-development of the respective national societies.
