Summary/Abstract: Talking about Exams. Discursive Identities of Romanian Youtubers. The main objective of the present study is to analyse the construction of discursive identity on YouTube in young youtubers’ talks about preparing for the A-level exam. Its theoretical framework is based on the socio-communicative model described by Patrick Charaudeau (1992, 1993, 1994, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2006), using specifically the description of the construction of the speaker’s identity. Thus, a model of analysis of Romanian youtubers’ identities was developed. This model brings together in the discursive construction of the speaker’s identity both the social identity and the discursive identity. With regard to the discursive identity, its components “credibility” and “gaining attention” were also analysed. Within each component, their specific attitudes were also analysed (Charaudeau 2009). The present research has been successful in outlining the way in which the speaker’s identity is constructed within a specific communication situation.
