Summary/Abstract: Clauses containing the locution conjunctive comme si / kao da are semantically rather diverse although they are most frequently referred to in the context of comparative-hypothetical meaning. In consequence, they can also be used to express a realistic situation. In some other contexts, the meaning can be attributed to a hypothetical / potential cause. This paper discusses examples in which these meanings and semantic values feature prominently whereas special emphasis is placed on the meaning pertaining to cause, which requires more research when it comes to this particular locution conjunctive.
