Summary/Abstract: The object of the present study are elements of the verbal and non-verbal non-authorial peritext or paratext accompanying the main text in the same volume, and coming not from the author but from third parties, mainly (but not exclusively) from the editor. The aim of the analysis is to find the answer to some questions about the reason for the presence of non-authorial peritext in the Polish translation series of The Little Prince, about the information concerning the potential readers of the Polish translations that it provides, if the non-authorial peritext helps the Polish reader to realize that he is reading a translation and how it does so. The following types of peritext have been analyzed: 1) blurbs, 2) preceding the main text, 3) placed in the main text, and 4) placed after the main text.
