Summary/Abstract: The research represents one of the key components of knowledge economy. Although the Region of South Moravia is one of the leading regions within the Czech Republic, it is a question whether it uses the existing infrastructure, human resources and financial sources for further development. The analysis of the most significant subsidy programs answered the question affirmatively. As in the case of operational programmes (RDIOP, OPEC, OPEI), also in the FP7 the enterprises operating in this region have a high success rate, from the perspective of number of implemented projects as well as amount of obtained subsidies. An important role in this is played by universities, especially Masaryk University and University of Technology, for which we can find the evidence that they achieve partial successes in the field of technology transfers and also positive expectations for further progress.
