Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the nuclear term of computer terminology computer, which is an anthropomorphic metaphor created on Eglish-American soil. Metaphorical transfer is one of the main methods of nomination and reflects the connection between cultural processes and language changes. The universal nature of this way of forming new concepts in the IT sphere and demonstration of its functioning as a mechanism of cognition, interaction of languages, consciousness and national-cultural specificity is reflected in conceptual metaphors computer-machine, computer-man, computer-mirror world.
