Museums about major earthquakes around the world

Summary/Abstract: This paper will present several important earthquake museums in different regions of the world, some where major earthquakes have occurred, especially in the last century. Earthquakes will be briefly described, and then the museums dedicated to them will be described in more detail: both permanent and temporary, mobile or itinerant, virtual earthquake museums, as well as divisions about earthquakes in different science museums around the world. In adition, earthquake museums that combine memorial and museum functions will be presented.
