Summary/Abstract: Polish‑born scientist Marie Curie (Marie Skłodowska‑Curie)was a two‑time Nobel Prize winner and the only scientist to have received the award twice for her scientific work in different fields, in physics and chemistry. She lived from 1867 to 1934 and is considered to be one of the most brilliant minds of the 20th century; she was the trailblazer of the nuclear age. Marie Curie’s relentless determination and insatiable curiosity made her a pioneer in the field of radioactivity and she is an icon in the world of modern science. Intended as a tribute to this brilliant woman,this article aims to highlight aspects of her life and career, but also to talk about her legacy and how it is being carried forward.
