Summary/Abstract: The present paper contains an overview of the aims, problems and tentative solutions which a modern course in Probability and Statistics should cover when confronted with the rising demand for theoretical based methods of analysis and prognosis, in various fields like the management of technological processes, the monitoring of air or water pollution, health care decisions or financial risk analysis. While the outline of such a course should be different if it addresses a regular student (and then the learning direction is more prominent) or if it is intended as a training course for professionals in some domain, we try to cover the main chapters which both directions should contain, completed with attractive 3ds animations and power point presentations.
